وَيْلٌ Woe لِّلْمُطَفِّفِينَ to those who give less

ٱلَّذِينَ Those who إِذَا when ٱكْتَالُوا۟ they take a measure عَلَى from ٱلنَّاسِ the people يَسْتَوْفُونَ they take in full

وَإِذَا But when كَالُوهُمْ they give by measure (to) them أَو or وَّزَنُوهُمْ they weigh (for) them يُخْسِرُونَ they give less

أَلَا Do not يَظُنُّ think أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ those أَنَّهُم that they مَّبْعُوثُونَ (will be) resurrected

لِيَوْمٍ For a Day عَظِيمٍ Great

يَوْمَ (The) Day يَقُومُ will stand ٱلنَّاسُ mankind لِرَبِّ before (the) Lord ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ (of) the worlds

كَلَّآ Nay إِنَّ Indeed كِتَـٰبَ (the) record ٱلْفُجَّارِ (of) the wicked لَفِى (is) surely in سِجِّينٍ Sijjin

وَمَآ And what أَدْرَىٰكَ can make you know مَا what سِجِّينٌ (is) Sijjin

كِتَـٰبٌ A book مَّرْقُومٌ written

وَيْلٌ Woe يَوْمَئِذٍ that Day لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ to the deniers

ٱلَّذِينَ Those who يُكَذِّبُونَ deny بِيَوْمِ (the) Day ٱلدِّينِ (of) the Judgment

وَمَا And not يُكَذِّبُ can deny بِهِۦٓ [of] it إِلَّا except كُلُّ every مُعْتَدٍ transgressor أَثِيمٍ sinful

إِذَا When تُتْلَىٰ are recited عَلَيْهِ to him ءَايَـٰتُنَا Our Verses قَالَ he says أَسَـٰطِيرُ Stories ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ (of) the former (people)

كَلَّا Nay ۖ   بَلْ But ۜ   رَانَ (the) stain has covered عَلَىٰ [over] قُلُوبِهِم their hearts مَّا (for) what كَانُوا۟ they used to يَكْسِبُونَ earn

كَلَّآ Nay إِنَّهُمْ Indeed, they عَن from رَّبِّهِمْ their Lord يَوْمَئِذٍ that Day لَّمَحْجُوبُونَ surely will be partitioned

ثُمَّ Then إِنَّهُمْ indeed, they لَصَالُوا۟ (surely) will burn ٱلْجَحِيمِ (in) the Hellfire

ثُمَّ Then يُقَالُ it will be said هَـٰذَا This ٱلَّذِى (is) what كُنتُم you used to بِهِۦ [of it] تُكَذِّبُونَ deny

كَلَّآ Nay إِنَّ Indeed كِتَـٰبَ (the) record ٱلْأَبْرَارِ (of) the righteous لَفِى (will be) surely in عِلِّيِّينَ Illiyin

وَمَآ And what أَدْرَىٰكَ can make you know مَا what عِلِّيُّونَ (is) Illiyun

كِتَـٰبٌ A book مَّرْقُومٌ written

يَشْهَدُهُ Witness it ٱلْمُقَرَّبُونَ those brought near

إِنَّ Indeed ٱلْأَبْرَارَ the righteous لَفِى (will be) surely in نَعِيمٍ bliss

عَلَى On ٱلْأَرَآئِكِ thrones يَنظُرُونَ observing

تَعْرِفُ You will recognize فِى in وُجُوهِهِمْ their faces نَضْرَةَ (the) radiance ٱلنَّعِيمِ (of) bliss

يُسْقَوْنَ They will be given to drink مِن of رَّحِيقٍ a pure wine مَّخْتُومٍ sealed

خِتَـٰمُهُۥ Its seal مِسْكٌ (will be of) musk ۚ   وَفِى And for ذَٰلِكَ that فَلْيَتَنَافَسِ let aspire ٱلْمُتَنَـٰفِسُونَ the aspirers

وَمِزَاجُهُۥ And its mixture مِن (is) of تَسْنِيمٍ Tasneem

عَيْنًا A spring يَشْرَبُ will drink بِهَا from it ٱلْمُقَرَّبُونَ those brought near

إِنَّ Indeed ٱلَّذِينَ those who أَجْرَمُوا۟ committed crimes كَانُوا۟ used to مِنَ at ٱلَّذِينَ those who ءَامَنُوا۟ believed يَضْحَكُونَ laugh

وَإِذَا And when مَرُّوا۟ they passed بِهِمْ by them يَتَغَامَزُونَ they winked at one another

وَإِذَا And when ٱنقَلَبُوٓا۟ they returned إِلَىٰٓ to أَهْلِهِمُ their people ٱنقَلَبُوا۟ they would return فَكِهِينَ jesting

وَإِذَا And when رَأَوْهُمْ they saw them قَالُوٓا۟ they said إِنَّ Indeed هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ these لَضَآلُّونَ surely have gone astray

وَمَآ But not أُرْسِلُوا۟ they had been sent عَلَيْهِمْ over them حَـٰفِظِينَ (as) guardians

فَٱلْيَوْمَ So today ٱلَّذِينَ those who ءَامَنُوا۟ believed مِنَ at ٱلْكُفَّارِ the disbelievers يَضْحَكُونَ they will laugh

عَلَى On ٱلْأَرَآئِكِ the thrones يَنظُرُونَ observing

هَلْ Have (not) ثُوِّبَ been rewarded ٱلْكُفَّارُ the disbelievers مَا (for) what كَانُوا۟ they used to يَفْعَلُونَ do
