الٓمٓ Alif Lam Meem

تَنزِيلُ (The) revelation ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ (of) the Book لَا (there is) no رَيْبَ doubt فِيهِ about it مِن from رَّبِّ (the) Lord ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ (of) the worlds

أَمْ Or يَقُولُونَ (do) they say ٱفْتَرَىٰهُ He invented it ۚ   بَلْ Nay هُوَ it ٱلْحَقُّ (is) the truth مِن from رَّبِّكَ your Lord لِتُنذِرَ that you may warn قَوْمًا a people مَّآ not أَتَىٰهُم has come to them مِّن any نَّذِيرٍ warner مِّن before you قَبْلِكَ before you لَعَلَّهُمْ so that they may يَهْتَدُونَ be guided

ٱللَّهُ Allah ٱلَّذِى (is) the One Who خَلَقَ created ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ the heavens وَٱلْأَرْضَ and the earth وَمَا and whatever بَيْنَهُمَا (is) between them فِى in سِتَّةِ six أَيَّامٍ periods ثُمَّ Then ٱسْتَوَىٰ established Himself عَلَى on ٱلْعَرْشِ the Throne ۖ   مَا Not لَكُم for you مِّن besides Him دُونِهِۦ besides Him مِن any وَلِىٍّ protector وَلَا and not شَفِيعٍ any intercessor ۚ   أَفَلَا Then will not تَتَذَكَّرُونَ you take heed

يُدَبِّرُ He regulates ٱلْأَمْرَ the affair مِنَ of ٱلسَّمَآءِ the heaven إِلَى to ٱلْأَرْضِ the earth ثُمَّ then يَعْرُجُ it will ascend إِلَيْهِ to Him فِى in يَوْمٍ a Day كَانَ (the) measure of which is مِقْدَارُهُۥٓ (the) measure of which is أَلْفَ a thousand سَنَةٍ years مِّمَّا of what تَعُدُّونَ you count

ذَٰلِكَ That عَـٰلِمُ (is the) Knower ٱلْغَيْبِ (of) the hidden وَٱلشَّهَـٰدَةِ and the witnessed ٱلْعَزِيزُ the All-Mighty ٱلرَّحِيمُ the Most Merciful

ٱلَّذِىٓ The One Who أَحْسَنَ made good كُلَّ every شَىْءٍ thing خَلَقَهُۥ He created ۖ   وَبَدَأَ and He began خَلْقَ (the) creation ٱلْإِنسَـٰنِ (of) man مِن from طِينٍ clay

ثُمَّ Then جَعَلَ He made نَسْلَهُۥ his progeny مِن from سُلَـٰلَةٍ an extract مِّن of مَّآءٍ water مَّهِينٍ despised

ثُمَّ Then سَوَّىٰهُ He fashioned him وَنَفَخَ and breathed فِيهِ into him مِن from رُّوحِهِۦ His spirit ۖ   وَجَعَلَ and made لَكُمُ for you ٱلسَّمْعَ the hearing وَٱلْأَبْصَـٰرَ and the sight وَٱلْأَفْـِٔدَةَ and feelings ۚ   قَلِيلًا little مَّا [what] تَشْكُرُونَ thanks you give

وَقَالُوٓا۟ And they say أَءِذَا Is (it) when ضَلَلْنَا we are lost فِى in ٱلْأَرْضِ the earth أَءِنَّا will we لَفِى certainly be in خَلْقٍ a creation جَدِيدٍۭ new ۚ   بَلْ Nay هُم they بِلِقَآءِ in (the) meeting رَبِّهِمْ (of) their Lord كَـٰفِرُونَ (are) disbelievers

قُلْ Say يَتَوَفَّىٰكُم Will take your soul مَّلَكُ (the) Angel ٱلْمَوْتِ (of) the death ٱلَّذِى the one who وُكِّلَ has been put in charge بِكُمْ of you ثُمَّ Then إِلَىٰ to رَبِّكُمْ your Lord تُرْجَعُونَ you will be returned

وَلَوْ And if تَرَىٰٓ you (could) see إِذِ when ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ the criminals نَاكِسُوا۟ (will) hang رُءُوسِهِمْ their heads عِندَ before رَبِّهِمْ their Lord رَبَّنَآ Our Lord أَبْصَرْنَا we have seen وَسَمِعْنَا and we have heard فَٱرْجِعْنَا so return us نَعْمَلْ we will do صَـٰلِحًا righteous (deeds) إِنَّا Indeed, we مُوقِنُونَ (are now) certain

وَلَوْ And if شِئْنَا We (had) willed لَـَٔاتَيْنَا surely We (would) have given كُلَّ every نَفْسٍ soul هُدَىٰهَا its guidance وَلَـٰكِنْ but حَقَّ (is) true ٱلْقَوْلُ the Word مِنِّى from Me لَأَمْلَأَنَّ that I will surely fill جَهَنَّمَ Hell مِنَ with ٱلْجِنَّةِ the jinn وَٱلنَّاسِ and the men أَجْمَعِينَ together

فَذُوقُوا۟ So taste بِمَا because نَسِيتُمْ you forgot لِقَآءَ (the) meeting يَوْمِكُمْ (of) this Day of yours هَـٰذَآ (of) this Day of yours إِنَّا Indeed, We نَسِينَـٰكُمْ have forgotten you ۖ   وَذُوقُوا۟ And taste عَذَابَ (the) punishment ٱلْخُلْدِ (of) eternity بِمَا for what كُنتُمْ you used (to) تَعْمَلُونَ do

إِنَّمَا Only يُؤْمِنُ believe بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا in Our Verses ٱلَّذِينَ those who إِذَا when ذُكِّرُوا۟ they are reminded بِهَا of them خَرُّوا۟ fall down سُجَّدًا prostrating وَسَبَّحُوا۟ and glorify بِحَمْدِ (the) praises رَبِّهِمْ (of) their Lord وَهُمْ and they لَا are not arrogant يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ are not arrogant ۩  

تَتَجَافَىٰ Forsake جُنُوبُهُمْ their sides عَنِ from ٱلْمَضَاجِعِ (their) beds يَدْعُونَ they call رَبَّهُمْ their Lord خَوْفًا (in) fear وَطَمَعًا and hope وَمِمَّا and out of what رَزَقْنَـٰهُمْ We have provided them يُنفِقُونَ they spend

فَلَا And not تَعْلَمُ knows نَفْسٌ a soul مَّآ what أُخْفِىَ is hidden لَهُم for them مِّن of قُرَّةِ (the) comfort أَعْيُنٍ (for) the eyes جَزَآءًۢ (as) a reward بِمَا for what كَانُوا۟ they used (to) يَعْمَلُونَ do

أَفَمَن Then is one who كَانَ is مُؤْمِنًا a believer كَمَن like (him) who كَانَ is فَاسِقًا defiantly disobedient ۚ   لَّا Not يَسْتَوُۥنَ they are equal

أَمَّا As for ٱلَّذِينَ those who ءَامَنُوا۟ believe وَعَمِلُوا۟ and do ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ righteous deeds فَلَهُمْ then for them جَنَّـٰتُ (are) Gardens ٱلْمَأْوَىٰ (of) Refuge نُزُلًۢا (as) hospitality بِمَا for what كَانُوا۟ they used (to) يَعْمَلُونَ do

وَأَمَّا But as for ٱلَّذِينَ those who فَسَقُوا۟ are defiantly disobedient فَمَأْوَىٰهُمُ then their refuge ٱلنَّارُ (is) the Fire ۖ   كُلَّمَآ Every time أَرَادُوٓا۟ they wish أَن to يَخْرُجُوا۟ come out مِنْهَآ from it أُعِيدُوا۟ they (will) be returned فِيهَا in it وَقِيلَ and it (will) be said لَهُمْ to them ذُوقُوا۟ Taste عَذَابَ (the) punishment ٱلنَّارِ (of) the Fire ٱلَّذِى which كُنتُم you used (to) بِهِۦ [in it] تُكَذِّبُونَ deny

وَلَنُذِيقَنَّهُم And surely, We will let them taste مِّنَ of ٱلْعَذَابِ the punishment ٱلْأَدْنَىٰ the nearer دُونَ before ٱلْعَذَابِ the punishment ٱلْأَكْبَرِ the greater لَعَلَّهُمْ so that they may يَرْجِعُونَ return

وَمَنْ And who أَظْلَمُ (is) more unjust مِمَّن than (he) who ذُكِّرَ is reminded بِـَٔايَـٰتِ of (the) Verses رَبِّهِۦ (of) his Lord ثُمَّ then أَعْرَضَ he turns away عَنْهَآ from them ۚ   إِنَّا Indeed, We مِنَ from ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ the criminals مُنتَقِمُونَ (will) take retribution

وَلَقَدْ And certainly ءَاتَيْنَا We gave مُوسَى Musa ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ the Scripture فَلَا so (do) not تَكُن be فِى in مِرْيَةٍ doubt مِّن about لِّقَآئِهِۦ receiving it ۖ   وَجَعَلْنَـٰهُ And We made it هُدًى a guide لِّبَنِىٓ for the Children of Israel إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ for the Children of Israel

وَجَعَلْنَا And We made مِنْهُمْ from them أَئِمَّةً leaders يَهْدُونَ guiding بِأَمْرِنَا by Our Command لَمَّا when صَبَرُوا۟ they were patient ۖ   وَكَانُوا۟ and they were بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا of Our Verses يُوقِنُونَ certain

إِنَّ Indeed رَبَّكَ your Lord هُوَ [He] يَفْصِلُ will judge بَيْنَهُمْ between them يَوْمَ (on the) Day ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ (of) Resurrection فِيمَا in what كَانُوا۟ they used (to) فِيهِ [in it] يَخْتَلِفُونَ differ

أَوَلَمْ Does it not يَهْدِ guide لَهُمْ [for] them كَمْ (that) how many أَهْلَكْنَا We have destroyed مِن before them قَبْلِهِم before them مِّنَ of ٱلْقُرُونِ the generations يَمْشُونَ they walk about فِى in مَسَـٰكِنِهِمْ their dwellings ۚ   إِنَّ Indeed فِى in ذَٰلِكَ that لَـَٔايَـٰتٍ surely, are Signs ۖ   أَفَلَا Then do not يَسْمَعُونَ they hear

أَوَلَمْ Do not يَرَوْا۟ they see أَنَّا that We نَسُوقُ drive ٱلْمَآءَ water إِلَى to ٱلْأَرْضِ the land ٱلْجُرُزِ [the] barren فَنُخْرِجُ then We bring forth بِهِۦ thereby زَرْعًا crops تَأْكُلُ eat مِنْهُ from it أَنْعَـٰمُهُمْ their cattle وَأَنفُسُهُمْ and they themselves ۖ   أَفَلَا Then do not يُبْصِرُونَ they see

وَيَقُولُونَ And they say مَتَىٰ When (will be) هَـٰذَا this ٱلْفَتْحُ decision إِن if كُنتُمْ you are صَـٰدِقِينَ truthful

قُلْ Say يَوْمَ (On the) Day ٱلْفَتْحِ (of) the Decision لَا not يَنفَعُ will benefit ٱلَّذِينَ those who كَفَرُوٓا۟ disbelieve إِيمَـٰنُهُمْ their belief وَلَا and not هُمْ they يُنظَرُونَ will be granted respite

فَأَعْرِضْ So turn away عَنْهُمْ from them وَٱنتَظِرْ and wait إِنَّهُم Indeed, they مُّنتَظِرُونَ (are) waiting
