يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا O mankind ٱلنَّاسُ O mankind ٱتَّقُوا۟ Fear رَبَّكُمْ your Lord ۚ   إِنَّ Indeed زَلْزَلَةَ (the) convulsion ٱلسَّاعَةِ (of) the Hour شَىْءٌ (is) a thing عَظِيمٌ great

يَوْمَ (The) Day تَرَوْنَهَا you will see it تَذْهَلُ will forget كُلُّ every مُرْضِعَةٍ nursing mother عَمَّآ that which أَرْضَعَتْ she was nursing وَتَضَعُ and will deliver كُلُّ every ذَاتِ pregnant woman حَمْلٍ pregnant woman حَمْلَهَا her load وَتَرَى and you will see ٱلنَّاسَ [the] mankind سُكَـٰرَىٰ intoxicated وَمَا while not هُم they بِسُكَـٰرَىٰ (are) intoxicated وَلَـٰكِنَّ but عَذَابَ (the) punishment ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah شَدِيدٌ (will be) severe

وَمِنَ And among ٱلنَّاسِ the mankind مَن (is he) who يُجَـٰدِلُ disputes فِى concerning ٱللَّهِ Allah بِغَيْرِ without عِلْمٍ knowledge وَيَتَّبِعُ and follows كُلَّ every شَيْطَـٰنٍ devil مَّرِيدٍ rebellious

كُتِبَ It has been decreed عَلَيْهِ for him أَنَّهُۥ that he مَن who تَوَلَّاهُ befriends him فَأَنَّهُۥ then indeed, he يُضِلُّهُۥ will misguide him وَيَهْدِيهِ and will guide him إِلَىٰ to عَذَابِ (the) punishment ٱلسَّعِيرِ (of) the Blaze

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا O mankind ٱلنَّاسُ O mankind إِن If كُنتُمْ you are فِى in رَيْبٍ doubt مِّنَ about ٱلْبَعْثِ the Resurrection فَإِنَّا then indeed, We خَلَقْنَـٰكُم We created you مِّن from تُرَابٍ dust ثُمَّ then مِن from نُّطْفَةٍ a semen-drop ثُمَّ then مِنْ from عَلَقَةٍ a clinging substance ثُمَّ then مِن from مُّضْغَةٍ an embryonic lump مُّخَلَّقَةٍ formed وَغَيْرِ and unformed مُخَلَّقَةٍ and unformed لِّنُبَيِّنَ that We may make clear لَكُمْ to you ۚ   وَنُقِرُّ And We cause to remain فِى in ٱلْأَرْحَامِ the wombs مَا what نَشَآءُ We will إِلَىٰٓ for أَجَلٍ a term مُّسَمًّى appointed ثُمَّ then نُخْرِجُكُمْ We bring you out طِفْلًا (as) a child ثُمَّ [then] لِتَبْلُغُوٓا۟ that you may reach أَشُدَّكُمْ [your] maturity ۖ   وَمِنكُم And among you مَّن (is he) who يُتَوَفَّىٰ dies وَمِنكُم and among you مَّن (is he) who يُرَدُّ is returned إِلَىٰٓ to أَرْذَلِ the most abject ٱلْعُمُرِ age لِكَيْلَا so that not يَعْلَمَ he knows مِنۢ after بَعْدِ after عِلْمٍ having known شَيْـًٔا anything ۚ   وَتَرَى And you see ٱلْأَرْضَ the earth هَامِدَةً barren فَإِذَآ then when أَنزَلْنَا We send down عَلَيْهَا on it ٱلْمَآءَ water ٱهْتَزَّتْ it gets stirred وَرَبَتْ and it swells وَأَنۢبَتَتْ and grows مِن of كُلِّ every زَوْجٍۭ kind بَهِيجٍ beautiful

ذَٰلِكَ That بِأَنَّ (is) because ٱللَّهَ Allah هُوَ He ٱلْحَقُّ (is) the Truth وَأَنَّهُۥ And that He يُحْىِ [He] gives life ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ (to) the dead وَأَنَّهُۥ and that He عَلَىٰ (is) over كُلِّ every شَىْءٍ thing قَدِيرٌ All-Powerful

وَأَنَّ And that ٱلسَّاعَةَ the Hour ءَاتِيَةٌ will come لَّا (there is) no رَيْبَ doubt فِيهَا about it وَأَنَّ and that ٱللَّهَ Allah يَبْعَثُ will resurrect مَن (those) who فِى (are) in ٱلْقُبُورِ the graves

وَمِنَ And among ٱلنَّاسِ mankind مَن (is he) who يُجَـٰدِلُ disputes فِى concerning ٱللَّهِ Allah بِغَيْرِ without عِلْمٍ any knowledge وَلَا and not هُدًى any guidance وَلَا and not كِتَـٰبٍ a Book مُّنِيرٍ enlightening

ثَانِىَ Twisting عِطْفِهِۦ his neck لِيُضِلَّ to mislead عَن from سَبِيلِ (the) way ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah ۖ   لَهُۥ For him فِى in ٱلدُّنْيَا the world خِزْىٌ (is) disgrace ۖ   وَنُذِيقُهُۥ and We will make him taste يَوْمَ (on the) Day ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ (of) Resurrection عَذَابَ (the) punishment ٱلْحَرِيقِ (of) the Burning Fire

ذَٰلِكَ That بِمَا (is) for what قَدَّمَتْ have sent forth يَدَاكَ your hands وَأَنَّ and that ٱللَّهَ Allah لَيْسَ is not بِظَلَّـٰمٍ unjust لِّلْعَبِيدِ to His slaves

وَمِنَ And among ٱلنَّاسِ the mankind مَن (is he) who يَعْبُدُ worships ٱللَّهَ Allah عَلَىٰ on حَرْفٍ an edge ۖ   فَإِنْ And if أَصَابَهُۥ befalls him خَيْرٌ good ٱطْمَأَنَّ he is content بِهِۦ with it ۖ   وَإِنْ and if أَصَابَتْهُ befalls him فِتْنَةٌ a trial ٱنقَلَبَ he turns عَلَىٰ on وَجْهِهِۦ his face خَسِرَ He has lost ٱلدُّنْيَا the world وَٱلْـَٔاخِرَةَ and the Hereafter ۚ   ذَٰلِكَ That هُوَ [it] ٱلْخُسْرَانُ (is) the loss ٱلْمُبِينُ clear

يَدْعُوا۟ He calls مِن besides دُونِ besides ٱللَّهِ Allah مَا what لَا not يَضُرُّهُۥ harms him وَمَا and what لَا not يَنفَعُهُۥ benefits him ۚ   ذَٰلِكَ That هُوَ [it] ٱلضَّلَـٰلُ (is) the straying ٱلْبَعِيدُ far away

يَدْعُوا۟ He calls لَمَن (one) who ضَرُّهُۥٓ his harm أَقْرَبُ (is) closer مِن than نَّفْعِهِۦ his benefit ۚ   لَبِئْسَ Surely, an evil ٱلْمَوْلَىٰ protector وَلَبِئْسَ and surely an evil ٱلْعَشِيرُ friend

إِنَّ Indeed ٱللَّهَ Allah يُدْخِلُ will admit ٱلَّذِينَ those who ءَامَنُوا۟ believe وَعَمِلُوا۟ and do ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ the righteous deeds جَنَّـٰتٍ (to) Gardens تَجْرِى flow مِن from تَحْتِهَا underneath it ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُ the rivers ۚ   إِنَّ Indeed ٱللَّهَ Allah يَفْعَلُ does مَا what يُرِيدُ He intends

مَن Whoever كَانَ [is] يَظُنُّ thinks أَن that لَّن not يَنصُرَهُ Allah will help him ٱللَّهُ Allah will help him فِى in ٱلدُّنْيَا the world وَٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ and the Hereafter فَلْيَمْدُدْ then let him extend بِسَبَبٍ a rope إِلَى to ٱلسَّمَآءِ the sky ثُمَّ then لْيَقْطَعْ let him cut off فَلْيَنظُرْ then let him see هَلْ whether يُذْهِبَنَّ will remove كَيْدُهُۥ his plan مَا what يَغِيظُ enrages

وَكَذَٰلِكَ And thus أَنزَلْنَـٰهُ We sent it down ءَايَـٰتٍۭ (as) clear Verses بَيِّنَـٰتٍ (as) clear Verses وَأَنَّ and that ٱللَّهَ Allah يَهْدِى guides مَن whom يُرِيدُ He intends

إِنَّ Indeed ٱلَّذِينَ those who ءَامَنُوا۟ have believed وَٱلَّذِينَ and those who هَادُوا۟ were Jews وَٱلصَّـٰبِـِٔينَ and the Sabians وَٱلنَّصَـٰرَىٰ and the Christians وَٱلْمَجُوسَ and the Magians وَٱلَّذِينَ and those who أَشْرَكُوٓا۟ (are) polytheists إِنَّ indeed ٱللَّهَ Allah يَفْصِلُ will judge بَيْنَهُمْ between them يَوْمَ (on) the Day ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ (of) the Resurrection ۚ   إِنَّ Indeed ٱللَّهَ Allah عَلَىٰ over كُلِّ every شَىْءٍ thing شَهِيدٌ (is) a Witness

أَلَمْ Do not تَرَ you see أَنَّ that ٱللَّهَ (to) Allah يَسْجُدُ prostrates لَهُۥ to Him مَن whoever فِى (is) in ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ the heavens وَمَن and whoever فِى (is) in ٱلْأَرْضِ the earth وَٱلشَّمْسُ and the sun وَٱلْقَمَرُ and the moon وَٱلنُّجُومُ and the stars وَٱلْجِبَالُ and the mountains وَٱلشَّجَرُ and the trees وَٱلدَّوَآبُّ and the moving creatures وَكَثِيرٌ and many مِّنَ of ٱلنَّاسِ the people ۖ   وَكَثِيرٌ But many حَقَّ (is) justly due عَلَيْهِ on him ٱلْعَذَابُ the punishment ۗ   وَمَن And whoever يُهِنِ Allah humiliates ٱللَّهُ Allah humiliates فَمَا then not لَهُۥ for him مِن any مُّكْرِمٍ bestower of honor ۚ   إِنَّ Indeed ٱللَّهَ Allah يَفْعَلُ does مَا what يَشَآءُ He wills ۩  

هَـٰذَانِ These two خَصْمَانِ opponents ٱخْتَصَمُوا۟ dispute فِى concerning رَبِّهِمْ their Lord ۖ   فَٱلَّذِينَ But those who كَفَرُوا۟ disbelieved قُطِّعَتْ will be cut out لَهُمْ for them ثِيَابٌ garments مِّن of نَّارٍ fire يُصَبُّ Will be poured مِن over فَوْقِ over رُءُوسِهِمُ their heads ٱلْحَمِيمُ [the] scalding water

يُصْهَرُ Will be melted بِهِۦ with it مَا what فِى (is) in بُطُونِهِمْ their bellies وَٱلْجُلُودُ and the skins

وَلَهُم And for them مَّقَـٰمِعُ (are) hooked rods مِنْ of حَدِيدٍ iron

كُلَّمَآ Every time أَرَادُوٓا۟ they want أَن to يَخْرُجُوا۟ come out مِنْهَا from it مِنْ from غَمٍّ anguish أُعِيدُوا۟ they will be returned فِيهَا therein وَذُوقُوا۟ Taste عَذَابَ (the) punishment ٱلْحَرِيقِ (of) the Burning Fire

إِنَّ Indeed ٱللَّهَ Allah يُدْخِلُ will admit ٱلَّذِينَ those who ءَامَنُوا۟ believe وَعَمِلُوا۟ and do ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ the righteous deeds جَنَّـٰتٍ (to) Gardens تَجْرِى flow مِن from تَحْتِهَا underneath it ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُ the rivers يُحَلَّوْنَ They will be adorned فِيهَا therein مِنْ with أَسَاوِرَ bracelets مِن of ذَهَبٍ gold وَلُؤْلُؤًا and pearl ۖ   وَلِبَاسُهُمْ and their garments فِيهَا therein حَرِيرٌ (will be of) silk

وَهُدُوٓا۟ And they were guided إِلَى to ٱلطَّيِّبِ the good مِنَ of ٱلْقَوْلِ the speech وَهُدُوٓا۟ and they were guided إِلَىٰ to صِرَٰطِ (the) path ٱلْحَمِيدِ (of) the Praiseworthy

إِنَّ Indeed ٱلَّذِينَ those who كَفَرُوا۟ disbelieved وَيَصُدُّونَ and hinder عَن from سَبِيلِ (the) way ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah وَٱلْمَسْجِدِ and Al-Masjid Al-Haraam ٱلْحَرَامِ and Al-Masjid Al-Haraam ٱلَّذِى which جَعَلْنَـٰهُ We made it لِلنَّاسِ for the mankind سَوَآءً equal ٱلْعَـٰكِفُ (are) the resident فِيهِ therein وَٱلْبَادِ and the visitor ۚ   وَمَن and whoever يُرِدْ intends فِيهِ therein بِإِلْحَادٍۭ of deviation بِظُلْمٍ (or) wrongdoing نُّذِقْهُ We will make him taste مِنْ of عَذَابٍ a punishment أَلِيمٍ painful

وَإِذْ And when بَوَّأْنَا We assigned لِإِبْرَٰهِيمَ to Ibrahim مَكَانَ (the) site ٱلْبَيْتِ (of) the House أَن That لَّا (do) not تُشْرِكْ associate بِى with Me شَيْـًٔا anything وَطَهِّرْ and purify بَيْتِىَ My House لِلطَّآئِفِينَ for those who circumambulate وَٱلْقَآئِمِينَ and those who stand وَٱلرُّكَّعِ and those who bow ٱلسُّجُودِ (and) those who prostrate

وَأَذِّن And proclaim فِى to ٱلنَّاسِ [the] mankind بِٱلْحَجِّ [of] the Pilgrimage يَأْتُوكَ they will come to you رِجَالًا (on) foot وَعَلَىٰ and on كُلِّ every ضَامِرٍ lean camel يَأْتِينَ they will come مِن from كُلِّ every فَجٍّ mountain highway عَمِيقٍ distant

لِّيَشْهَدُوا۟ That they may witness مَنَـٰفِعَ benefits لَهُمْ for them وَيَذْكُرُوا۟ and mention ٱسْمَ (the) name ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah فِىٓ on أَيَّامٍ days مَّعْلُومَـٰتٍ known عَلَىٰ over مَا what رَزَقَهُم He has provided them مِّنۢ of بَهِيمَةِ (the) beast ٱلْأَنْعَـٰمِ (of) cattle ۖ   فَكُلُوا۟ So eat مِنْهَا of them وَأَطْعِمُوا۟ and feed ٱلْبَآئِسَ the miserable ٱلْفَقِيرَ the poor

ثُمَّ Then لْيَقْضُوا۟ let them end تَفَثَهُمْ their prescribed duties وَلْيُوفُوا۟ and fulfil نُذُورَهُمْ their vows وَلْيَطَّوَّفُوا۟ and circumambulate بِٱلْبَيْتِ the House ٱلْعَتِيقِ [the] Ancient

ذَٰلِكَ That وَمَن and whoever يُعَظِّمْ honors حُرُمَـٰتِ (the) sacred rites ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah فَهُوَ then it خَيْرٌ (is) best لَّهُۥ for him عِندَ near رَبِّهِۦ his Lord ۗ   وَأُحِلَّتْ And are made lawful لَكُمُ to you ٱلْأَنْعَـٰمُ the cattle إِلَّا except مَا what يُتْلَىٰ is recited عَلَيْكُمْ to you ۖ   فَٱجْتَنِبُوا۟ So avoid ٱلرِّجْسَ the abomination مِنَ of ٱلْأَوْثَـٰنِ the idols وَٱجْتَنِبُوا۟ and avoid قَوْلَ (the) word ٱلزُّورِ false

حُنَفَآءَ Being upright لِلَّهِ to Allah غَيْرَ not مُشْرِكِينَ associating partners بِهِۦ with Him ۚ   وَمَن And whoever يُشْرِكْ associates partners بِٱللَّهِ with Allah فَكَأَنَّمَا then (it is) as though خَرَّ he had fallen مِنَ from ٱلسَّمَآءِ the sky فَتَخْطَفُهُ and (had) snatched him ٱلطَّيْرُ the birds أَوْ or تَهْوِى had blown بِهِ him ٱلرِّيحُ the wind فِى to مَكَانٍ a place سَحِيقٍ far off

ذَٰلِكَ That وَمَن and whoever يُعَظِّمْ honors شَعَـٰٓئِرَ (the) Symbols ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah فَإِنَّهَا then indeed, it مِن (is) from تَقْوَى (the) piety ٱلْقُلُوبِ (of) the hearts

لَكُمْ For you فِيهَا therein مَنَـٰفِعُ (are) benefits إِلَىٰٓ for أَجَلٍ a term مُّسَمًّى appointed ثُمَّ then مَحِلُّهَآ their place of sacrifice إِلَى (is) at ٱلْبَيْتِ the House ٱلْعَتِيقِ the Ancient

وَلِكُلِّ And for every أُمَّةٍ nation جَعَلْنَا We have appointed مَنسَكًا a rite لِّيَذْكُرُوا۟ that they may mention ٱسْمَ (the) name ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah عَلَىٰ over مَا what رَزَقَهُم He (has) provided them مِّنۢ of بَهِيمَةِ (the) beast ٱلْأَنْعَـٰمِ (of) cattle ۗ   فَإِلَـٰهُكُمْ And your God إِلَـٰهٌ (is) God وَٰحِدٌ One فَلَهُۥٓ so to Him أَسْلِمُوا۟ submit ۗ   وَبَشِّرِ And give glad tidings ٱلْمُخْبِتِينَ (to) the humble ones

ٱلَّذِينَ Those إِذَا when ذُكِرَ is mentioned ٱللَّهُ Allah وَجِلَتْ fear قُلُوبُهُمْ their hearts وَٱلصَّـٰبِرِينَ and those who are patient عَلَىٰ over مَآ whatever أَصَابَهُمْ has afflicted them وَٱلْمُقِيمِى and those who establish ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ the prayer وَمِمَّا and out of what رَزَقْنَـٰهُمْ We have provided them يُنفِقُونَ they spend

وَٱلْبُدْنَ And the camels and cattle جَعَلْنَـٰهَا We have made them لَكُم for you مِّن among شَعَـٰٓئِرِ (the) Symbols ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah لَكُمْ for you فِيهَا therein خَيْرٌ (is) good ۖ   فَٱذْكُرُوا۟ So mention ٱسْمَ (the) name ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah عَلَيْهَا over them صَوَآفَّ (when) lined up ۖ   فَإِذَا and when وَجَبَتْ are down جُنُوبُهَا their sides فَكُلُوا۟ then eat مِنْهَا from them وَأَطْعِمُوا۟ and feed ٱلْقَانِعَ the needy who do not ask وَٱلْمُعْتَرَّ and the needy who ask ۚ   كَذَٰلِكَ Thus سَخَّرْنَـٰهَا We have subjected them لَكُمْ to you لَعَلَّكُمْ so that you may تَشْكُرُونَ be grateful

لَن Will not يَنَالَ reach ٱللَّهَ Allah لُحُومُهَا their meat وَلَا and not دِمَآؤُهَا their blood وَلَـٰكِن but يَنَالُهُ reaches Him ٱلتَّقْوَىٰ the piety مِنكُمْ from you ۚ   كَذَٰلِكَ Thus سَخَّرَهَا He subjected them لَكُمْ to you لِتُكَبِّرُوا۟ so that you may magnify ٱللَّهَ Allah عَلَىٰ for مَا what هَدَىٰكُمْ He has guided you ۗ   وَبَشِّرِ And give glad tidings ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ (to) the good-doers

إِنَّ Indeed ٱللَّهَ Allah يُدَٰفِعُ defends عَنِ defends ٱلَّذِينَ those who ءَامَنُوٓا۟ believe ۗ   إِنَّ Indeed ٱللَّهَ Allah لَا (does) not يُحِبُّ like كُلَّ every خَوَّانٍ treacherous كَفُورٍ ungrateful

أُذِنَ Permission is given لِلَّذِينَ to those who يُقَـٰتَلُونَ are being fought بِأَنَّهُمْ because they ظُلِمُوا۟ were wronged ۚ   وَإِنَّ And indeed ٱللَّهَ Allah عَلَىٰ for نَصْرِهِمْ their victory لَقَدِيرٌ (is) surely Able

ٱلَّذِينَ Those who أُخْرِجُوا۟ have been evicted مِن from دِيَـٰرِهِم their homes بِغَيْرِ without حَقٍّ right إِلَّآ except أَن that يَقُولُوا۟ they said رَبُّنَا Our Lord ٱللَّهُ (is) Allah ۗ   وَلَوْلَا And if not دَفْعُ Allah checks ٱللَّهِ Allah checks ٱلنَّاسَ the people بَعْضَهُم some of them بِبَعْضٍ by others لَّهُدِّمَتْ surely (would) have been demolished صَوَٰمِعُ monasteries وَبِيَعٌ and churches وَصَلَوَٰتٌ and synagogues وَمَسَـٰجِدُ and masajid يُذْكَرُ is mentioned فِيهَا in it ٱسْمُ (the) name of Allah ٱللَّهِ (the) name of Allah كَثِيرًا much ۗ   وَلَيَنصُرَنَّ And surely Allah will help ٱللَّهُ And surely Allah will help مَن (those) who يَنصُرُهُۥٓ help Him ۗ   إِنَّ Indeed ٱللَّهَ Allah لَقَوِىٌّ (is) surely All-Strong عَزِيزٌ All-Mighty

ٱلَّذِينَ Those who إِن if مَّكَّنَّـٰهُمْ We establish them فِى in ٱلْأَرْضِ the land أَقَامُوا۟ they establish ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ the prayer وَءَاتَوُا۟ and they give ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ zakah وَأَمَرُوا۟ and they enjoin بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ the right وَنَهَوْا۟ and forbid عَنِ from ٱلْمُنكَرِ the wrong ۗ   وَلِلَّهِ And for Allah عَـٰقِبَةُ (is the) end ٱلْأُمُورِ (of) the matters

وَإِن And if يُكَذِّبُوكَ they deny you فَقَدْ so verily كَذَّبَتْ denied قَبْلَهُمْ before them قَوْمُ (the) people نُوحٍ (of) Nuh وَعَادٌ and Aad وَثَمُودُ and Thamud

وَقَوْمُ And (the) people إِبْرَٰهِيمَ (of) Ibrahim وَقَوْمُ and (the) people لُوطٍ (of) Lut

وَأَصْحَـٰبُ And the inhabitants مَدْيَنَ (of) Madyan ۖ   وَكُذِّبَ And Musa was denied مُوسَىٰ And Musa was denied فَأَمْلَيْتُ so I granted respite لِلْكَـٰفِرِينَ to the disbelievers ثُمَّ then أَخَذْتُهُمْ I seized them ۖ   فَكَيْفَ and how كَانَ was نَكِيرِ My punishment

فَكَأَيِّن And how many مِّن of قَرْيَةٍ a township أَهْلَكْنَـٰهَا We have destroyed it وَهِىَ while it ظَالِمَةٌ was doing wrong فَهِىَ so it خَاوِيَةٌ fell عَلَىٰ on عُرُوشِهَا its roofs وَبِئْرٍ and well مُّعَطَّلَةٍ abandoned وَقَصْرٍ and castle مَّشِيدٍ lofty

أَفَلَمْ So have not يَسِيرُوا۟ they traveled فِى in ٱلْأَرْضِ the land فَتَكُونَ and is لَهُمْ for them قُلُوبٌ hearts يَعْقِلُونَ (to) reason بِهَآ with it أَوْ or ءَاذَانٌ ears يَسْمَعُونَ (to) hear بِهَا with it ۖ   فَإِنَّهَا For indeed, [it] لَا not تَعْمَى (are) blinded ٱلْأَبْصَـٰرُ the eyes وَلَـٰكِن but تَعْمَى (are) blinded ٱلْقُلُوبُ the hearts ٱلَّتِى which فِى (are) in ٱلصُّدُورِ the breasts

وَيَسْتَعْجِلُونَكَ And they ask you to hasten بِٱلْعَذَابِ the punishment وَلَن But never will يُخْلِفَ fail/violate ٱللَّهُ Allah وَعْدَهُۥ (in) His Promise ۚ   وَإِنَّ And indeed يَوْمًا a day عِندَ with رَبِّكَ your Lord كَأَلْفِ (is) like a thousand سَنَةٍ year(s) مِّمَّا of what تَعُدُّونَ you count

وَكَأَيِّن And how many مِّن of قَرْيَةٍ a township أَمْلَيْتُ I gave respite لَهَا to it وَهِىَ while it ظَالِمَةٌ (was) doing wrong ثُمَّ Then أَخَذْتُهَا I seized it وَإِلَىَّ and to Me ٱلْمَصِيرُ (is) the destination

قُلْ Say يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا O mankind ٱلنَّاسُ O mankind إِنَّمَآ Only أَنَا۠ I am لَكُمْ to you نَذِيرٌ a warner مُّبِينٌ clear

فَٱلَّذِينَ So those who ءَامَنُوا۟ believe وَعَمِلُوا۟ and do ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ righteous deeds لَهُم for them مَّغْفِرَةٌ (is) forgiveness وَرِزْقٌ and a provision كَرِيمٌ noble

وَٱلَّذِينَ And those who سَعَوْا۟ strove فِىٓ against ءَايَـٰتِنَا Our Verses مُعَـٰجِزِينَ (to) cause failure أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ those أَصْحَـٰبُ (are the) companions ٱلْجَحِيمِ (of) the Hellfire

وَمَآ And not أَرْسَلْنَا We sent مِن before you قَبْلِكَ before you مِن any رَّسُولٍ Messenger وَلَا and not نَبِىٍّ a Prophet إِلَّآ but إِذَا when تَمَنَّىٰٓ he recited أَلْقَى threw ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنُ the Shaitaan فِىٓ in أُمْنِيَّتِهِۦ his recitation فَيَنسَخُ But Allah abolishes ٱللَّهُ But Allah abolishes مَا what يُلْقِى throws ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنُ the Shaitaan ثُمَّ then يُحْكِمُ Allah will establish ٱللَّهُ Allah will establish ءَايَـٰتِهِۦ His Verses ۗ   وَٱللَّهُ And Allah عَلِيمٌ (is) All-Knower حَكِيمٌ All-Wise

لِّيَجْعَلَ That He may make مَا what يُلْقِى the Shaitaan throws ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنُ the Shaitaan throws فِتْنَةً a trial لِّلَّذِينَ for those فِى in قُلُوبِهِم their hearts مَّرَضٌ (is) a disease وَٱلْقَاسِيَةِ and (are) hardened قُلُوبُهُمْ their hearts ۗ   وَإِنَّ And indeed ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ the wrongdoers لَفِى (are) surely, in شِقَاقٍۭ schism بَعِيدٍ far

وَلِيَعْلَمَ And that may know ٱلَّذِينَ those who أُوتُوا۟ have been given ٱلْعِلْمَ the knowledge أَنَّهُ that it ٱلْحَقُّ (is) the truth مِن from رَّبِّكَ your Lord فَيُؤْمِنُوا۟ and they believe بِهِۦ in it فَتُخْبِتَ and may humbly submit لَهُۥ to it قُلُوبُهُمْ their hearts ۗ   وَإِنَّ And indeed ٱللَّهَ Allah لَهَادِ (is) surely (the) Guide ٱلَّذِينَ (of) those who ءَامَنُوٓا۟ believe إِلَىٰ to صِرَٰطٍ a Path مُّسْتَقِيمٍ Straight

وَلَا And not يَزَالُ will cease ٱلَّذِينَ those who كَفَرُوا۟ disbelieve فِى (to be) in مِرْيَةٍ doubt مِّنْهُ of it حَتَّىٰ until تَأْتِيَهُمُ comes to them ٱلسَّاعَةُ the Hour بَغْتَةً suddenly أَوْ or يَأْتِيَهُمْ comes to them عَذَابُ (the) punishment يَوْمٍ (of) a Day عَقِيمٍ barren

ٱلْمُلْكُ The Sovereignty يَوْمَئِذٍ (on) that Day لِّلَّهِ (will be) for Allah يَحْكُمُ He will judge بَيْنَهُمْ between them ۚ   فَٱلَّذِينَ So those who ءَامَنُوا۟ believe وَعَمِلُوا۟ and did ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ righteous deeds فِى (will be) in جَنَّـٰتِ Gardens ٱلنَّعِيمِ (of) Delight

وَٱلَّذِينَ And those who كَفَرُوا۟ disbelieved وَكَذَّبُوا۟ and denied بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا Our Verses فَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ then those لَهُمْ for them عَذَابٌ (will be) a punishment مُّهِينٌ humiliating

وَٱلَّذِينَ And those who هَاجَرُوا۟ emigrated فِى in سَبِيلِ (the) way ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah ثُمَّ then قُتِلُوٓا۟ were killed أَوْ or مَاتُوا۟ died لَيَرْزُقَنَّهُمُ surely, Allah will provide them ٱللَّهُ surely, Allah will provide them رِزْقًا a provision حَسَنًا good ۚ   وَإِنَّ And indeed ٱللَّهَ Allah لَهُوَ surely, He خَيْرُ (is the) Best ٱلرَّٰزِقِينَ (of) the Providers

لَيُدْخِلَنَّهُم Surely, He will admit them مُّدْخَلًا (to) an entrance يَرْضَوْنَهُۥ they will be pleased (with) it ۗ   وَإِنَّ And indeed ٱللَّهَ Allah لَعَلِيمٌ surely, (is) All-Knowing حَلِيمٌ Most Forbearing

ذَٰلِكَ That وَمَنْ and whoever عَاقَبَ has retaliated بِمِثْلِ with the like مَا (of) that عُوقِبَ he was made to suffer بِهِۦ by it ثُمَّ then بُغِىَ he was oppressed عَلَيْهِ [on him] لَيَنصُرَنَّهُ Allah will surely help him ٱللَّهُ Allah will surely help him ۗ   إِنَّ Indeed ٱللَّهَ Allah لَعَفُوٌّ (is) surely Oft-Pardoning غَفُورٌ Oft-Forgiving

ذَٰلِكَ That بِأَنَّ (is) because ٱللَّهَ Allah يُولِجُ causes to enter ٱلَّيْلَ the night فِى in (to) ٱلنَّهَارِ the day وَيُولِجُ and causes to enter ٱلنَّهَارَ the day فِى in (to) ٱلَّيْلِ the night وَأَنَّ And indeed ٱللَّهَ Allah سَمِيعٌۢ (is) All-Hearer بَصِيرٌ All-Seer

ذَٰلِكَ That (is) بِأَنَّ because ٱللَّهَ Allah هُوَ He ٱلْحَقُّ (is) the Truth وَأَنَّ and that مَا what يَدْعُونَ they invoke مِن besides Him دُونِهِۦ besides Him هُوَ it ٱلْبَـٰطِلُ (is) the falsehood وَأَنَّ And that ٱللَّهَ Allah هُوَ He ٱلْعَلِىُّ (is) the Most High ٱلْكَبِيرُ the Most Great

أَلَمْ Do not تَرَ you see أَنَّ that ٱللَّهَ Allah أَنزَلَ sends down مِنَ from ٱلسَّمَآءِ the sky مَآءً water فَتُصْبِحُ then becomes ٱلْأَرْضُ the earth مُخْضَرَّةً green ۗ   إِنَّ Indeed ٱللَّهَ Allah لَطِيفٌ (is) surely Subtle خَبِيرٌ All-Aware

لَّهُۥ For Him مَا (is) whatever فِى (is) in ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ the heavens وَمَا and whatever فِى (is) in ٱلْأَرْضِ the earth ۗ   وَإِنَّ And indeed ٱللَّهَ Allah لَهُوَ surely, He ٱلْغَنِىُّ (is) Free of need ٱلْحَمِيدُ the Praiseworthy

أَلَمْ Do not تَرَ you see أَنَّ that ٱللَّهَ Allah سَخَّرَ (has) subjected لَكُم to you مَّا what فِى (is) in ٱلْأَرْضِ the earth وَٱلْفُلْكَ and the ships تَجْرِى that sail فِى through ٱلْبَحْرِ the sea بِأَمْرِهِۦ by His Command وَيُمْسِكُ And He withholds ٱلسَّمَآءَ the sky أَن lest تَقَعَ it falls عَلَى on ٱلْأَرْضِ the earth إِلَّا except بِإِذْنِهِۦٓ by His permission ۗ   إِنَّ Indeed ٱللَّهَ Allah بِٱلنَّاسِ to mankind لَرَءُوفٌ (is) Full of Kindness رَّحِيمٌ Most Merciful

وَهُوَ And He ٱلَّذِىٓ (is) the One Who أَحْيَاكُمْ gave you life ثُمَّ then يُمِيتُكُمْ He will cause you to die ثُمَّ then يُحْيِيكُمْ He will give you life (again) ۗ   إِنَّ Indeed ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ man لَكَفُورٌ (is) surely ungrateful

لِّكُلِّ For every أُمَّةٍ nation جَعَلْنَا We have made مَنسَكًا rite(s) هُمْ they نَاسِكُوهُ perform it ۖ   فَلَا So let them not dispute with you يُنَـٰزِعُنَّكَ So let them not dispute with you فِى in ٱلْأَمْرِ the matter ۚ   وَٱدْعُ but invite (them) إِلَىٰ to رَبِّكَ your Lord ۖ   إِنَّكَ Indeed, you لَعَلَىٰ (are) surely on هُدًى guidance مُّسْتَقِيمٍ straight

وَإِن And if جَـٰدَلُوكَ they argue (with) you فَقُلِ then say ٱللَّهُ Allah أَعْلَمُ (is) most knowing بِمَا of what تَعْمَلُونَ you do

ٱللَّهُ Allah يَحْكُمُ will judge بَيْنَكُمْ between you يَوْمَ (on the) Day ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ (of) the Resurrection فِيمَا concerning what كُنتُمْ you used (to) فِيهِ in it تَخْتَلِفُونَ differ

أَلَمْ Do not تَعْلَمْ you know أَنَّ that ٱللَّهَ Allah يَعْلَمُ knows مَا what فِى (is) in ٱلسَّمَآءِ the heaven وَٱلْأَرْضِ and the earth ۗ   إِنَّ Indeed ذَٰلِكَ that فِى (is) in كِتَـٰبٍ a Record ۚ   إِنَّ indeed ذَٰلِكَ that عَلَى (is) for ٱللَّهِ Allah يَسِيرٌ easy

وَيَعْبُدُونَ And they worship مِن besides Allah دُونِ besides Allah ٱللَّهِ besides Allah مَا what لَمْ not يُنَزِّلْ He (has) sent down بِهِۦ for it سُلْطَـٰنًا any authority وَمَا and what لَيْسَ not لَهُم they have بِهِۦ of it عِلْمٌ any knowledge ۗ   وَمَا And not لِلظَّـٰلِمِينَ (will be) for the wrongdoers مِن any نَّصِيرٍ helper

وَإِذَا And when تُتْلَىٰ are recited عَلَيْهِمْ to them ءَايَـٰتُنَا Our Verses بَيِّنَـٰتٍ clear تَعْرِفُ you will recognize فِى on وُجُوهِ (the) faces ٱلَّذِينَ (of) those who كَفَرُوا۟ disbelieve ٱلْمُنكَرَ the denial ۖ   يَكَادُونَ They almost يَسْطُونَ attack بِٱلَّذِينَ those who يَتْلُونَ recite عَلَيْهِمْ to them ءَايَـٰتِنَا Our Verses ۗ   قُلْ Say أَفَأُنَبِّئُكُم Then shall I inform you بِشَرٍّ of worse مِّن than ذَٰلِكُمُ that ۗ   ٱلنَّارُ The Fire وَعَدَهَا Allah (has) promised it ٱللَّهُ Allah (has) promised it ٱلَّذِينَ (for) those who كَفَرُوا۟ disbelieve ۖ   وَبِئْسَ and wretched ٱلْمَصِيرُ (is) the destination

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا O mankind ٱلنَّاسُ O mankind ضُرِبَ Is set forth مَثَلٌ an example فَٱسْتَمِعُوا۟ so listen لَهُۥٓ to it ۚ   إِنَّ Indeed ٱلَّذِينَ those whom تَدْعُونَ you invoke مِن besides Allah دُونِ besides Allah ٱللَّهِ besides Allah لَن will never يَخْلُقُوا۟ create ذُبَابًا a fly وَلَوِ even if ٱجْتَمَعُوا۟ they gathered together لَهُۥ for it ۖ   وَإِن And if يَسْلُبْهُمُ snatched away from them ٱلذُّبَابُ the fly شَيْـًٔا a thing لَّا not يَسْتَنقِذُوهُ they (could) take it back مِنْهُ from it ۚ   ضَعُفَ So weak ٱلطَّالِبُ (are) the seeker وَٱلْمَطْلُوبُ and the one who is sought

مَا Not قَدَرُوا۟ they (have) estimated ٱللَّهَ Allah حَقَّ (with) due قَدْرِهِۦٓ [His] estimation ۗ   إِنَّ Indeed ٱللَّهَ Allah لَقَوِىٌّ (is) surely All-Strong عَزِيزٌ All-Mighty

ٱللَّهُ Allah يَصْطَفِى chooses مِنَ from ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةِ the Angels رُسُلًا Messengers وَمِنَ and from ٱلنَّاسِ the mankind ۚ   إِنَّ Indeed ٱللَّهَ Allah سَمِيعٌۢ (is) All-Hearer بَصِيرٌ All-Seer

يَعْلَمُ He knows مَا what بَيْنَ (is) before them أَيْدِيهِمْ (is) before them وَمَا and what خَلْفَهُمْ (is) after them ۗ   وَإِلَى And to ٱللَّهِ Allah تُرْجَعُ return ٱلْأُمُورُ all the matters

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا O you who believe ٱلَّذِينَ O you who believe ءَامَنُوا۟ O you who believe ٱرْكَعُوا۟ Bow وَٱسْجُدُوا۟ and prostrate وَٱعْبُدُوا۟ and worship رَبَّكُمْ your Lord وَٱفْعَلُوا۟ and do ٱلْخَيْرَ [the] good لَعَلَّكُمْ so that you may تُفْلِحُونَ be successful ۩  

وَجَـٰهِدُوا۟ And strive فِى for ٱللَّهِ Allah حَقَّ (with the) striving due (to) Him جِهَادِهِۦ (with the) striving due (to) Him ۚ   هُوَ He ٱجْتَبَىٰكُمْ (has) chosen you وَمَا and not جَعَلَ placed عَلَيْكُمْ upon you فِى in ٱلدِّينِ the religion مِنْ any حَرَجٍ difficulty ۚ   مِّلَّةَ (The) religion أَبِيكُمْ (of) your father إِبْرَٰهِيمَ Ibrahim ۚ   هُوَ He سَمَّىٰكُمُ named you ٱلْمُسْلِمِينَ Muslims مِن before قَبْلُ before وَفِى and in هَـٰذَا this لِيَكُونَ that may be ٱلرَّسُولُ the Messenger شَهِيدًا a witness عَلَيْكُمْ over you وَتَكُونُوا۟ and you may be شُهَدَآءَ witnesses عَلَى on ٱلنَّاسِ the mankind ۚ   فَأَقِيمُوا۟ So establish ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ the prayer وَءَاتُوا۟ and give ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ zakah وَٱعْتَصِمُوا۟ and hold fast بِٱللَّهِ to Allah هُوَ He مَوْلَىٰكُمْ (is) your Protector ۖ   فَنِعْمَ so an Excellent ٱلْمَوْلَىٰ [the] Protector وَنِعْمَ and an Excellent ٱلنَّصِيرُ [the] Helper
