يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا O ٱلنَّبِىُّ Prophet لِمَ Why (do) تُحَرِّمُ you prohibit مَآ what أَحَلَّ has made lawful ٱللَّهُ Allah لَكَ for you ۖ   تَبْتَغِى seeking مَرْضَاتَ (to) please أَزْوَٰجِكَ your wives ۚ   وَٱللَّهُ And Allah غَفُورٌ (is) Oft-Forgiving رَّحِيمٌ Most Merciful

قَدْ Indeed فَرَضَ has ordained ٱللَّهُ Allah لَكُمْ for you تَحِلَّةَ (the) dissolution أَيْمَـٰنِكُمْ (of) your oaths ۚ   وَٱللَّهُ And Allah مَوْلَىٰكُمْ (is) your Protector ۖ   وَهُوَ and He ٱلْعَلِيمُ (is) the All-Knower ٱلْحَكِيمُ the All-Wise

وَإِذْ And when أَسَرَّ confided ٱلنَّبِىُّ the Prophet إِلَىٰ to بَعْضِ one أَزْوَٰجِهِۦ (of) his wives حَدِيثًا a statement فَلَمَّا and when نَبَّأَتْ she informed بِهِۦ about it وَأَظْهَرَهُ and made it apparent ٱللَّهُ Allah عَلَيْهِ to him عَرَّفَ he made known بَعْضَهُۥ a part of it وَأَعْرَضَ and avoided عَنۢ [of] بَعْضٍ a part ۖ   فَلَمَّا Then when نَبَّأَهَا he informed her بِهِۦ about it قَالَتْ she said مَنْ Who أَنۢبَأَكَ informed you هَـٰذَا this ۖ   قَالَ He said نَبَّأَنِىَ Has informed me ٱلْعَلِيمُ the All-Knower ٱلْخَبِيرُ the All-Aware

إِن If تَتُوبَآ you both turn إِلَى to ٱللَّهِ Allah فَقَدْ so indeed صَغَتْ (are) inclined قُلُوبُكُمَا your hearts ۖ   وَإِن but if تَظَـٰهَرَا you backup each other عَلَيْهِ against him فَإِنَّ then indeed ٱللَّهَ Allah هُوَ He مَوْلَىٰهُ (is) his Protector وَجِبْرِيلُ and Jibreel وَصَـٰلِحُ and (the) righteous ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ believers ۖ   وَٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ and the Angels بَعْدَ after ذَٰلِكَ that ظَهِيرٌ (are his) assistants

عَسَىٰ Perhaps رَبُّهُۥٓ his Lord إِن if طَلَّقَكُنَّ he divorced you أَن [that] يُبْدِلَهُۥٓ He will substitute for him أَزْوَٰجًا wives خَيْرًا better مِّنكُنَّ than you مُسْلِمَـٰتٍ submissive مُّؤْمِنَـٰتٍ faithful قَـٰنِتَـٰتٍ obedient تَـٰٓئِبَـٰتٍ repentant عَـٰبِدَٰتٍ who worship سَـٰٓئِحَـٰتٍ who fast ثَيِّبَـٰتٍ previously married وَأَبْكَارًا and virgins

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا O ٱلَّذِينَ (you) who ءَامَنُوا۟ believe قُوٓا۟ Protect أَنفُسَكُمْ yourselves وَأَهْلِيكُمْ and your families نَارًا (from) a Fire وَقُودُهَا whose fuel ٱلنَّاسُ (is) people وَٱلْحِجَارَةُ and stones عَلَيْهَا over it مَلَـٰٓئِكَةٌ (are) Angels غِلَاظٌ stern شِدَادٌ severe لَّا not يَعْصُونَ they disobey ٱللَّهَ Allah مَآ (in) what أَمَرَهُمْ He Commands them وَيَفْعَلُونَ but they do مَا what يُؤْمَرُونَ they are commanded

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا O ٱلَّذِينَ (you) who كَفَرُوا۟ disbelieve لَا (Do) not تَعْتَذِرُوا۟ make excuses ٱلْيَوْمَ today ۖ   إِنَّمَا Only تُجْزَوْنَ you will be recompensed مَا (for) what كُنتُمْ you used to تَعْمَلُونَ do

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا O ٱلَّذِينَ (you) who believe ءَامَنُوا۟ believe تُوبُوٓا۟ Turn إِلَى to ٱللَّهِ Allah تَوْبَةً (in) repentance نَّصُوحًا sincere عَسَىٰ Perhaps رَبُّكُمْ your Lord أَن will يُكَفِّرَ remove عَنكُمْ from you سَيِّـَٔاتِكُمْ your evil deeds وَيُدْخِلَكُمْ and admit you جَنَّـٰتٍ (into) Gardens تَجْرِى flow مِن from تَحْتِهَا underneath it ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُ the rivers يَوْمَ (on the) Day لَا not يُخْزِى will be disgraced ٱللَّهُ (by) Allah ٱلنَّبِىَّ the Prophet وَٱلَّذِينَ and those who ءَامَنُوا۟ believed مَعَهُۥ with him ۖ   نُورُهُمْ Their light يَسْعَىٰ will run بَيْنَ before أَيْدِيهِمْ their hands وَبِأَيْمَـٰنِهِمْ and on their right يَقُولُونَ they will say رَبَّنَآ Our Lord أَتْمِمْ Perfect لَنَا for us نُورَنَا our light وَٱغْفِرْ and grant forgiveness لَنَآ to us ۖ   إِنَّكَ Indeed, You عَلَىٰ (are) over كُلِّ every شَىْءٍ thing قَدِيرٌ All-Powerful

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا O ٱلنَّبِىُّ Prophet جَـٰهِدِ Strive ٱلْكُفَّارَ (against) the disbelievers وَٱلْمُنَـٰفِقِينَ and the hypocrites وَٱغْلُظْ and be stern عَلَيْهِمْ with them ۚ   وَمَأْوَىٰهُمْ And their abode جَهَنَّمُ (is) Hell ۖ   وَبِئْسَ and wretched is ٱلْمَصِيرُ the destination

ضَرَبَ Presents ٱللَّهُ Allah مَثَلًا an example لِّلَّذِينَ for those who كَفَرُوا۟ disbelieved ٱمْرَأَتَ (the) wife نُوحٍ (of) Nuh وَٱمْرَأَتَ (and the) wife لُوطٍ (of) Lut ۖ   كَانَتَا They were تَحْتَ under عَبْدَيْنِ two [slaves] مِنْ of عِبَادِنَا Our slaves صَـٰلِحَيْنِ righteous فَخَانَتَاهُمَا but they both betrayed them فَلَمْ so not يُغْنِيَا they availed عَنْهُمَا both of them مِنَ from ٱللَّهِ Allah شَيْـًٔا (in) anything وَقِيلَ and it was said ٱدْخُلَا Enter ٱلنَّارَ the Fire مَعَ with ٱلدَّٰخِلِينَ those who enter

وَضَرَبَ And presents ٱللَّهُ Allah مَثَلًا an example لِّلَّذِينَ for those who ءَامَنُوا۟ believed ٱمْرَأَتَ (the) wife فِرْعَوْنَ (of) Firaun إِذْ when قَالَتْ she said رَبِّ My Lord ٱبْنِ Build لِى for me عِندَكَ near You بَيْتًا a house فِى in ٱلْجَنَّةِ Paradise وَنَجِّنِى and save me مِن from فِرْعَوْنَ Firaun وَعَمَلِهِۦ and his deeds وَنَجِّنِى and save me مِنَ from ٱلْقَوْمِ the people ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ the wrongdoers

وَمَرْيَمَ And Maryam ٱبْنَتَ (the) daughter عِمْرَٰنَ (of) Imran ٱلَّتِىٓ who أَحْصَنَتْ guarded فَرْجَهَا her chastity فَنَفَخْنَا so We breathed فِيهِ into it مِن of رُّوحِنَا Our Spirit وَصَدَّقَتْ And she believed بِكَلِمَـٰتِ (in the) Words رَبِّهَا (of) her Lord وَكُتُبِهِۦ and His Books وَكَانَتْ and she was مِنَ of ٱلْقَـٰنِتِينَ the devoutly obedient
