حمٓ Ha Meem

تَنزِيلُ (The) revelation ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ (of) the Book مِنَ (is) from ٱللَّهِ Allah ٱلْعَزِيزِ the All-Mighty ٱلْحَكِيمِ the All-Wise

إِنَّ Indeed فِى in ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ the heavens وَٱلْأَرْضِ and the earth لَـَٔايَـٰتٍ surely (are) Signs لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ for the believers

وَفِى And in خَلْقِكُمْ your creation وَمَا and what يَبُثُّ He disperses مِن of دَآبَّةٍ (the) moving creatures ءَايَـٰتٌ (are) Signs لِّقَوْمٍ for a people يُوقِنُونَ who are certain

وَٱخْتِلَـٰفِ And (in the) alternation ٱلَّيْلِ (of) the night وَٱلنَّهَارِ and the day وَمَآ and what أَنزَلَ Allah sends down ٱللَّهُ Allah sends down مِنَ from ٱلسَّمَآءِ the sky مِن of رِّزْقٍ (the) provision فَأَحْيَا and gives life بِهِ thereby ٱلْأَرْضَ (to) the earth بَعْدَ after مَوْتِهَا its death وَتَصْرِيفِ and (in) directing ٱلرِّيَـٰحِ (the) winds ءَايَـٰتٌ (are) Signs لِّقَوْمٍ for a people يَعْقِلُونَ who reason

تِلْكَ These ءَايَـٰتُ (are the) Verses ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah نَتْلُوهَا We recite them عَلَيْكَ to you بِٱلْحَقِّ in truth ۖ   فَبِأَىِّ Then in what حَدِيثٍۭ statement بَعْدَ after ٱللَّهِ Allah وَءَايَـٰتِهِۦ and His Verses يُؤْمِنُونَ will they believe

وَيْلٌ Woe لِّكُلِّ to every أَفَّاكٍ liar أَثِيمٍ sinful

يَسْمَعُ Who hears ءَايَـٰتِ (the) Verses ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah تُتْلَىٰ recited عَلَيْهِ to him ثُمَّ then يُصِرُّ persists مُسْتَكْبِرًا arrogantly كَأَن as if لَّمْ not يَسْمَعْهَا he heard them ۖ   فَبَشِّرْهُ So give him tidings بِعَذَابٍ (of) a punishment أَلِيمٍ painful

وَإِذَا And when عَلِمَ he knows مِنْ of ءَايَـٰتِنَا Our Verses شَيْـًٔا anything ٱتَّخَذَهَا he takes them هُزُوًا (in) ridicule ۚ   أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ Those لَهُمْ for them عَذَابٌ (is) a punishment مُّهِينٌ humiliating

مِّن Before them وَرَآئِهِمْ Before them جَهَنَّمُ (is) Hell ۖ   وَلَا and not يُغْنِى will avail عَنْهُم them مَّا what كَسَبُوا۟ they had earned شَيْـًٔا anything وَلَا and not مَا what ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ they had taken مِن besides دُونِ besides ٱللَّهِ Allah أَوْلِيَآءَ (as) protectors ۖ   وَلَهُمْ And for them عَذَابٌ (is) a punishment عَظِيمٌ great

هَـٰذَا This هُدًى (is) guidance ۖ   وَٱلَّذِينَ And those who كَفَرُوا۟ disbelieve بِـَٔايَـٰتِ in (the) Verses رَبِّهِمْ (of) their Lord لَهُمْ for them عَذَابٌ (is) a punishment مِّن of رِّجْزٍ filth أَلِيمٌ painful

ٱللَّهُ Allah ٱلَّذِى (is) the One Who سَخَّرَ subjected لَكُمُ to you ٱلْبَحْرَ the sea لِتَجْرِىَ that may sail ٱلْفُلْكُ the ships فِيهِ therein بِأَمْرِهِۦ by His Command وَلِتَبْتَغُوا۟ and that you may seek مِن of فَضْلِهِۦ His Bounty وَلَعَلَّكُمْ and that you may تَشْكُرُونَ give thanks

وَسَخَّرَ And He has subjected لَكُم to you مَّا whatever فِى (is) in ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ the heavens وَمَا and whatever فِى (is) in ٱلْأَرْضِ the earth جَمِيعًا all مِّنْهُ from Him ۚ   إِنَّ Indeed فِى in ذَٰلِكَ that لَـَٔايَـٰتٍ surely are Signs لِّقَوْمٍ for a people يَتَفَكَّرُونَ who give thought

قُل Say لِّلَّذِينَ to those who ءَامَنُوا۟ believe يَغْفِرُوا۟ (to) forgive لِلَّذِينَ those who لَا (do) not يَرْجُونَ hope أَيَّامَ (for the) days ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah لِيَجْزِىَ that He may recompense قَوْمًۢا a people بِمَا for what كَانُوا۟ they used to يَكْسِبُونَ earn

مَنْ Whoever عَمِلَ does صَـٰلِحًا a righteous deed فَلِنَفْسِهِۦ then it is for his soul ۖ   وَمَنْ and whoever أَسَآءَ does evil فَعَلَيْهَا then it (is) against it ۖ   ثُمَّ Then إِلَىٰ to رَبِّكُمْ your Lord تُرْجَعُونَ you will be returned

وَلَقَدْ And certainly ءَاتَيْنَا We gave بَنِىٓ (the) Children of Israel إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ (the) Children of Israel ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ the Book وَٱلْحُكْمَ and the wisdom وَٱلنُّبُوَّةَ and the Prophethood وَرَزَقْنَـٰهُم and We provided them مِّنَ of ٱلطَّيِّبَـٰتِ the good things وَفَضَّلْنَـٰهُمْ and We preferred them عَلَى over ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ the worlds

وَءَاتَيْنَـٰهُم And We gave them بَيِّنَـٰتٍ clear proofs مِّنَ of ٱلْأَمْرِ the matter ۖ   فَمَا And not ٱخْتَلَفُوٓا۟ they differed إِلَّا except مِنۢ after بَعْدِ after مَا [what] جَآءَهُمُ came to them ٱلْعِلْمُ the knowledge بَغْيًۢا (out of) envy بَيْنَهُمْ between themselves ۚ   إِنَّ Indeed رَبَّكَ your Lord يَقْضِى will judge بَيْنَهُمْ between them يَوْمَ (on the) Day ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ (of) the Resurrection فِيمَا about what كَانُوا۟ they used to فِيهِ therein يَخْتَلِفُونَ differ

ثُمَّ Then جَعَلْنَـٰكَ We put you عَلَىٰ on شَرِيعَةٍ an ordained way مِّنَ of ٱلْأَمْرِ the matter فَٱتَّبِعْهَا so follow it وَلَا and (do) not تَتَّبِعْ follow أَهْوَآءَ (the) desires ٱلَّذِينَ (of) those who لَا (do) not يَعْلَمُونَ know

إِنَّهُمْ Indeed, they لَن never يُغْنُوا۟ will avail عَنكَ you مِنَ against ٱللَّهِ Allah شَيْـًٔا (in) anything ۚ   وَإِنَّ And indeed ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ the wrongdoers بَعْضُهُمْ some of them أَوْلِيَآءُ (are) allies بَعْضٍ (of) others ۖ   وَٱللَّهُ and Allah وَلِىُّ (is the) Protector ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ (of) the righteous

هَـٰذَا This بَصَـٰٓئِرُ (is) enlightenment لِلنَّاسِ for mankind وَهُدًى and guidance وَرَحْمَةٌ and mercy لِّقَوْمٍ for a people يُوقِنُونَ who are certain

أَمْ Do حَسِبَ think ٱلَّذِينَ those who ٱجْتَرَحُوا۟ commit ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ evil deeds أَن that نَّجْعَلَهُمْ We will make them كَٱلَّذِينَ like those who ءَامَنُوا۟ believed وَعَمِلُوا۟ and did ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ righteous deeds سَوَآءً equal مَّحْيَاهُمْ (in) their life وَمَمَاتُهُمْ and their death ۚ   سَآءَ Evil is مَا what يَحْكُمُونَ they judge

وَخَلَقَ And Allah created ٱللَّهُ And Allah created ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ the heavens وَٱلْأَرْضَ and the earth بِٱلْحَقِّ in truth وَلِتُجْزَىٰ and that may be recompensed كُلُّ every نَفْسٍۭ soul بِمَا for what كَسَبَتْ it has earned وَهُمْ and they لَا will not be wronged يُظْلَمُونَ will not be wronged

أَفَرَءَيْتَ Have you seen مَنِ (he) who ٱتَّخَذَ takes إِلَـٰهَهُۥ (as) his god هَوَىٰهُ his desire وَأَضَلَّهُ and Allah lets him go astray ٱللَّهُ and Allah lets him go astray عَلَىٰ knowingly عِلْمٍ knowingly وَخَتَمَ and He sets a seal عَلَىٰ upon سَمْعِهِۦ his hearing وَقَلْبِهِۦ and his heart وَجَعَلَ and puts عَلَىٰ over بَصَرِهِۦ his vision غِشَـٰوَةً a veil فَمَن Then who يَهْدِيهِ will guide him مِنۢ after بَعْدِ after ٱللَّهِ Allah ۚ   أَفَلَا Then will not تَذَكَّرُونَ you receive admonition

وَقَالُوا۟ And they say مَا Not هِىَ it إِلَّا (is) but حَيَاتُنَا our life ٱلدُّنْيَا (of) the world نَمُوتُ we die وَنَحْيَا and we live وَمَا and not يُهْلِكُنَآ destroys us إِلَّا except ٱلدَّهْرُ the time ۚ   وَمَا And not لَهُم for them بِذَٰلِكَ of that مِنْ any عِلْمٍ knowledge ۖ   إِنْ not هُمْ they إِلَّا (do) but يَظُنُّونَ guess

وَإِذَا And when تُتْلَىٰ are recited عَلَيْهِمْ to them ءَايَـٰتُنَا Our Verses بَيِّنَـٰتٍ clear مَّا not كَانَ is حُجَّتَهُمْ their argument إِلَّآ except أَن that قَالُوا۟ they say ٱئْتُوا۟ Bring بِـَٔابَآئِنَآ our forefathers إِن if كُنتُمْ you are صَـٰدِقِينَ truthful

قُلِ Say ٱللَّهُ Allah يُحْيِيكُمْ gives you life ثُمَّ then يُمِيتُكُمْ causes you to die ثُمَّ then يَجْمَعُكُمْ He will gather you إِلَىٰ to يَوْمِ (the) Day ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ (of) the Resurrection لَا no رَيْبَ doubt فِيهِ about it وَلَـٰكِنَّ But أَكْثَرَ most ٱلنَّاسِ (of) the people لَا (do) not يَعْلَمُونَ know

وَلِلَّهِ And for Allah مُلْكُ (is the) dominion ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ (of) the heavens وَٱلْأَرْضِ and the earth ۚ   وَيَوْمَ and (the) Day تَقُومُ is established ٱلسَّاعَةُ the Hour يَوْمَئِذٍ that Day يَخْسَرُ will lose ٱلْمُبْطِلُونَ the falsifiers

وَتَرَىٰ And you will see كُلَّ every أُمَّةٍ nation جَاثِيَةً kneeling ۚ   كُلُّ Every أُمَّةٍ nation تُدْعَىٰٓ will be called إِلَىٰ to كِتَـٰبِهَا its record ٱلْيَوْمَ Today تُجْزَوْنَ you will be recompensed مَا (for) what كُنتُمْ you used to تَعْمَلُونَ do

هَـٰذَا This كِتَـٰبُنَا Our Record يَنطِقُ speaks عَلَيْكُم about you بِٱلْحَقِّ in truth ۚ   إِنَّا Indeed, We كُنَّا [We] used to نَسْتَنسِخُ transcribe مَا what كُنتُمْ you used to تَعْمَلُونَ do

فَأَمَّا Then as for ٱلَّذِينَ those who ءَامَنُوا۟ believed وَعَمِلُوا۟ and did ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ [the] righteous deeds فَيُدْخِلُهُمْ will admit them رَبُّهُمْ their Lord فِى in(to) رَحْمَتِهِۦ His mercy ۚ   ذَٰلِكَ That هُوَ [it] ٱلْفَوْزُ (is) the success ٱلْمُبِينُ clear

وَأَمَّا But as for ٱلَّذِينَ those who كَفَرُوٓا۟ disbelieved أَفَلَمْ Then were not تَكُنْ Then were not ءَايَـٰتِى My Verses تُتْلَىٰ recited عَلَيْكُمْ to you فَٱسْتَكْبَرْتُمْ but you were proud وَكُنتُمْ and you became قَوْمًا a people مُّجْرِمِينَ criminals

وَإِذَا And when قِيلَ it was said إِنَّ Indeed وَعْدَ (the) Promise ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah حَقٌّ (is) true وَٱلسَّاعَةُ and the Hour لَا (there is) no رَيْبَ doubt فِيهَا about it قُلْتُم you said مَّا Not نَدْرِى we know مَا what ٱلسَّاعَةُ the Hour (is) إِن Not نَّظُنُّ we think إِلَّا except ظَنًّا an assumption وَمَا and not نَحْنُ we بِمُسْتَيْقِنِينَ (are) convinced

وَبَدَا And (will) appear لَهُمْ to them سَيِّـَٔاتُ (the) evil مَا (of) what عَمِلُوا۟ they did وَحَاقَ and (will) envelop بِهِم them مَّا what كَانُوا۟ they used بِهِۦ [at it] يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ (to) mock

وَقِيلَ And it will be said ٱلْيَوْمَ Today نَنسَىٰكُمْ We forget you كَمَا as نَسِيتُمْ you forgot لِقَآءَ (the) meeting يَوْمِكُمْ (of) this Day of yours هَـٰذَا (of) this Day of yours وَمَأْوَىٰكُمُ and your abode ٱلنَّارُ (is) the Fire وَمَا and not لَكُم for you مِّن any نَّـٰصِرِينَ helpers

ذَٰلِكُم That بِأَنَّكُمُ (is) because you ٱتَّخَذْتُمْ took ءَايَـٰتِ (the) Verses ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah هُزُوًا (in) ridicule وَغَرَّتْكُمُ and deceived you ٱلْحَيَوٰةُ the life ٱلدُّنْيَا (of) the world ۚ   فَٱلْيَوْمَ So this Day لَا not يُخْرَجُونَ they will be brought forth مِنْهَا from it وَلَا and not هُمْ they يُسْتَعْتَبُونَ will be asked to appease

فَلِلَّهِ Then for Allah ٱلْحَمْدُ (is) all the praise رَبِّ (the) Lord ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ (of) the heavens وَرَبِّ and (the) Lord ٱلْأَرْضِ (of) the earth رَبِّ (the) lord ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ (of) the worlds

وَلَهُ And for Him ٱلْكِبْرِيَآءُ (is) the greatness فِى in ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ the heavens وَٱلْأَرْضِ and the earth ۖ   وَهُوَ and He ٱلْعَزِيزُ (is) the All-Mighty ٱلْحَكِيمُ the All-Wise
