يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا O Prophet ٱلنَّبِىُّ O Prophet ٱتَّقِ Fear ٱللَّهَ Allah وَلَا and (do) not تُطِعِ obey ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ the disbelievers وَٱلْمُنَـٰفِقِينَ and the hypocrites ۗ   إِنَّ Indeed ٱللَّهَ Allah كَانَ is عَلِيمًا All-Knower حَكِيمًا All-Wise

وَٱتَّبِعْ And follow مَا what يُوحَىٰٓ is inspired إِلَيْكَ to you مِن from رَّبِّكَ your Lord ۚ   إِنَّ Indeed ٱللَّهَ Allah كَانَ is بِمَا of what تَعْمَلُونَ you do خَبِيرًا All-Aware

وَتَوَكَّلْ And put your trust عَلَى in ٱللَّهِ Allah ۚ   وَكَفَىٰ And Allah is sufficient بِٱللَّهِ And Allah is sufficient وَكِيلًا (as) Disposer of affairs

مَّا Not جَعَلَ Allah (has) made ٱللَّهُ Allah (has) made لِرَجُلٍ for any man مِّن [of] قَلْبَيْنِ two hearts فِى in جَوْفِهِۦ his interior ۚ   وَمَا And not جَعَلَ He (has) made أَزْوَٰجَكُمُ your wives ٱلَّـٰٓـِٔى whom تُظَـٰهِرُونَ you declare unlawful مِنْهُنَّ [of them] أُمَّهَـٰتِكُمْ (as) your mothers ۚ   وَمَا And not جَعَلَ He has made أَدْعِيَآءَكُمْ your adopted sons أَبْنَآءَكُمْ your sons ۚ   ذَٰلِكُمْ That قَوْلُكُم (is) your saying بِأَفْوَٰهِكُمْ by your mouths ۖ   وَٱللَّهُ but Allah يَقُولُ says ٱلْحَقَّ the truth وَهُوَ and He يَهْدِى guides ٱلسَّبِيلَ (to) the Way

ٱدْعُوهُمْ Call them لِـَٔابَآئِهِمْ by their fathers هُوَ it أَقْسَطُ (is) more just عِندَ near ٱللَّهِ Allah ۚ   فَإِن But if لَّمْ not تَعْلَمُوٓا۟ you know ءَابَآءَهُمْ their fathers فَإِخْوَٰنُكُمْ then (they are) your brothers فِى in ٱلدِّينِ [the] religion وَمَوَٰلِيكُمْ and your friends ۚ   وَلَيْسَ But not is عَلَيْكُمْ upon you جُنَاحٌ any blame فِيمَآ in what أَخْطَأْتُم you made a mistake بِهِۦ in it وَلَـٰكِن but مَّا what تَعَمَّدَتْ intended قُلُوبُكُمْ your hearts ۚ   وَكَانَ And Allah ٱللَّهُ And Allah غَفُورًا (is) Oft-Forgiving رَّحِيمًا Most Merciful

ٱلنَّبِىُّ The Prophet أَوْلَىٰ (is) closer بِٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ to the believers مِنْ than أَنفُسِهِمْ their own selves ۖ   وَأَزْوَٰجُهُۥٓ and his wives أُمَّهَـٰتُهُمْ (are) their mothers ۗ   وَأُو۟لُوا۟ And possessors ٱلْأَرْحَامِ (of) relationships بَعْضُهُمْ some of them أَوْلَىٰ (are) closer بِبَعْضٍ to another فِى in كِتَـٰبِ (the) Decree ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah مِنَ than ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ the believers وَٱلْمُهَـٰجِرِينَ and the emigrants إِلَّآ except أَن that تَفْعَلُوٓا۟ you do إِلَىٰٓ to أَوْلِيَآئِكُم your friends مَّعْرُوفًا a kindness ۚ   كَانَ That is ذَٰلِكَ That is فِى in ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ the Book مَسْطُورًا written

وَإِذْ And when أَخَذْنَا We took مِنَ from ٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَ the Prophets مِيثَـٰقَهُمْ their Covenant وَمِنكَ and from you وَمِن and from نُّوحٍ Nuh وَإِبْرَٰهِيمَ and Ibrahim وَمُوسَىٰ and Musa وَعِيسَى and Isa ٱبْنِ son مَرْيَمَ (of) Maryam ۖ   وَأَخَذْنَا And We took مِنْهُم from them مِّيثَـٰقًا a covenant غَلِيظًا strong

لِّيَسْـَٔلَ That He may ask ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ the truthful عَن about صِدْقِهِمْ their truth ۚ   وَأَعَدَّ And He has prepared لِلْكَـٰفِرِينَ for the disbelievers عَذَابًا a punishment أَلِيمًا painful

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا O you ٱلَّذِينَ who ءَامَنُوا۟ believe ٱذْكُرُوا۟ Remember نِعْمَةَ (the) Favor ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah عَلَيْكُمْ upon you إِذْ when جَآءَتْكُمْ came to you جُنُودٌ (the) hosts فَأَرْسَلْنَا and We sent عَلَيْهِمْ upon them رِيحًا a wind وَجُنُودًا and hosts لَّمْ not تَرَوْهَا you (could) see them ۚ   وَكَانَ And Allah is ٱللَّهُ And Allah is بِمَا of what تَعْمَلُونَ you do بَصِيرًا All-Seer

إِذْ When جَآءُوكُم they came upon you مِّن from فَوْقِكُمْ above you وَمِنْ and from أَسْفَلَ below مِنكُمْ you وَإِذْ and when زَاغَتِ grew wild ٱلْأَبْصَـٰرُ the eyes وَبَلَغَتِ and reached ٱلْقُلُوبُ the hearts ٱلْحَنَاجِرَ the throats وَتَظُنُّونَ and you assumed بِٱللَّهِ about Allah ٱلظُّنُونَا۠ the assumptions

هُنَالِكَ There ٱبْتُلِىَ were tried ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ the believers وَزُلْزِلُوا۟ and shaken زِلْزَالًا (with a) shake شَدِيدًا severe

وَإِذْ And when يَقُولُ said ٱلْمُنَـٰفِقُونَ the hypocrites وَٱلَّذِينَ and those فِى in قُلُوبِهِم their hearts مَّرَضٌ (was) a disease مَّا Not وَعَدَنَا Allah promised us ٱللَّهُ Allah promised us وَرَسُولُهُۥٓ and His messenger إِلَّا except غُرُورًا delusion

وَإِذْ And when قَالَت said طَّآئِفَةٌ a party مِّنْهُمْ of them يَـٰٓأَهْلَ O People يَثْرِبَ (of) Yathrib لَا No مُقَامَ stand لَكُمْ for you فَٱرْجِعُوا۟ so return ۚ   وَيَسْتَـْٔذِنُ And asked permission فَرِيقٌ a group مِّنْهُمُ of them ٱلنَّبِىَّ (from) the Prophet يَقُولُونَ saying إِنَّ Indeed بُيُوتَنَا our houses عَوْرَةٌ (are) exposed وَمَا and not هِىَ they بِعَوْرَةٍ (were) exposed ۖ   إِن Not يُرِيدُونَ they wished إِلَّا but فِرَارًا to flee

وَلَوْ And if دُخِلَتْ had been entered عَلَيْهِم upon them مِّنْ from أَقْطَارِهَا all its sides ثُمَّ then سُئِلُوا۟ they had been asked ٱلْفِتْنَةَ the treachery لَـَٔاتَوْهَا they (would) have certainly done it وَمَا and not تَلَبَّثُوا۟ they (would) have hesitated بِهَآ over it إِلَّا except يَسِيرًا a little

وَلَقَدْ And certainly كَانُوا۟ they had عَـٰهَدُوا۟ promised ٱللَّهَ Allah مِن before قَبْلُ before لَا not يُوَلُّونَ they would turn ٱلْأَدْبَـٰرَ their backs ۚ   وَكَانَ And is عَهْدُ (the) promise ٱللَّهِ (to) Allah مَسْـُٔولًا to be questioned

قُل Say لَّن Never يَنفَعَكُمُ will benefit you ٱلْفِرَارُ the fleeing إِن if فَرَرْتُم you flee مِّنَ from ٱلْمَوْتِ death أَوِ or ٱلْقَتْلِ killing وَإِذًا and then لَّا not تُمَتَّعُونَ you will be allowed to enjoy إِلَّا except قَلِيلًا a little

قُلْ Say مَن Who ذَا (is) it that ٱلَّذِى (is) it that يَعْصِمُكُم (can) protect you مِّنَ from ٱللَّهِ Allah إِنْ If أَرَادَ He intends بِكُمْ for you سُوٓءًا any harm أَوْ or أَرَادَ He intends بِكُمْ for you رَحْمَةً a mercy ۚ   وَلَا And not يَجِدُونَ they will find لَهُم for them مِّن besides دُونِ besides ٱللَّهِ Allah وَلِيًّا any protector وَلَا and not نَصِيرًا any helper

قَدْ Verily يَعْلَمُ Allah knows ٱللَّهُ Allah knows ٱلْمُعَوِّقِينَ those who hinder مِنكُمْ among you وَٱلْقَآئِلِينَ and those who say لِإِخْوَٰنِهِمْ to their brothers هَلُمَّ Come إِلَيْنَا to us ۖ   وَلَا and not يَأْتُونَ they come ٱلْبَأْسَ (to) the battle إِلَّا except قَلِيلًا a few

أَشِحَّةً Miserly عَلَيْكُمْ towards you ۖ   فَإِذَا But when جَآءَ comes ٱلْخَوْفُ the fear رَأَيْتَهُمْ you see them يَنظُرُونَ looking إِلَيْكَ at you تَدُورُ revolving أَعْيُنُهُمْ their eyes كَٱلَّذِى like one who يُغْشَىٰ faints عَلَيْهِ faints مِنَ from ٱلْمَوْتِ [the] death ۖ   فَإِذَا But when ذَهَبَ departs ٱلْخَوْفُ the fear سَلَقُوكُم they smite you بِأَلْسِنَةٍ with tongues حِدَادٍ sharp أَشِحَّةً miserly عَلَى towards ٱلْخَيْرِ the good ۚ   أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ Those لَمْ not يُؤْمِنُوا۟ they have believed فَأَحْبَطَ so Allah made worthless ٱللَّهُ so Allah made worthless أَعْمَـٰلَهُمْ their deeds ۚ   وَكَانَ And is ذَٰلِكَ that عَلَى for ٱللَّهِ Allah يَسِيرًا easy

يَحْسَبُونَ They think ٱلْأَحْزَابَ the confederates لَمْ (have) not يَذْهَبُوا۟ withdrawn ۖ   وَإِن And if يَأْتِ (should) come ٱلْأَحْزَابُ the confederates يَوَدُّوا۟ they would wish لَوْ if أَنَّهُم that they (were) بَادُونَ living in (the) desert فِى among ٱلْأَعْرَابِ the Bedouins يَسْـَٔلُونَ asking عَنْ about أَنۢبَآئِكُمْ your news ۖ   وَلَوْ And if كَانُوا۟ they were فِيكُم among you مَّا not قَـٰتَلُوٓا۟ they would fight إِلَّا except قَلِيلًا a little

لَّقَدْ Certainly كَانَ is لَكُمْ for you فِى in رَسُولِ (the) Messenger ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah أُسْوَةٌ an excellent example حَسَنَةٌ an excellent example لِّمَن for (one) who كَانَ has يَرْجُوا۟ hope ٱللَّهَ (in) Allah وَٱلْيَوْمَ and the Day ٱلْـَٔاخِرَ the Last وَذَكَرَ and remembers ٱللَّهَ Allah كَثِيرًا much

وَلَمَّا And when رَءَا saw ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ the believers ٱلْأَحْزَابَ the confederates قَالُوا۟ they said هَـٰذَا This مَا (is) what وَعَدَنَا Allah promised us ٱللَّهُ Allah promised us وَرَسُولُهُۥ and His Messenger وَصَدَقَ and Allah spoke the truth ٱللَّهُ and Allah spoke the truth وَرَسُولُهُۥ and His Messenger ۚ   وَمَا And not زَادَهُمْ it increased them إِلَّآ except إِيمَـٰنًا (in) faith وَتَسْلِيمًا and submission

مِّنَ Among ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ the believers رِجَالٌ (are) men صَدَقُوا۟ (who) have been true مَا (to) what عَـٰهَدُوا۟ they promised Allah ٱللَّهَ they promised Allah عَلَيْهِ [on it] ۖ   فَمِنْهُم And among them مَّن (is he) who قَضَىٰ has fulfilled نَحْبَهُۥ his vow وَمِنْهُم and among them مَّن (is he) who يَنتَظِرُ awaits ۖ   وَمَا And not بَدَّلُوا۟ they alter تَبْدِيلًا (by) any alteration

لِّيَجْزِىَ That Allah may reward ٱللَّهُ That Allah may reward ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ the truthful بِصِدْقِهِمْ for their truth وَيُعَذِّبَ and punish ٱلْمُنَـٰفِقِينَ the hypocrites إِن if شَآءَ He wills أَوْ or يَتُوبَ turn in mercy عَلَيْهِمْ to them ۚ   إِنَّ Indeed ٱللَّهَ Allah كَانَ is غَفُورًا Oft-Forgiving رَّحِيمًا Most Merciful

وَرَدَّ And Allah turned back ٱللَّهُ And Allah turned back ٱلَّذِينَ those who كَفَرُوا۟ disbelieved بِغَيْظِهِمْ in their rage لَمْ not يَنَالُوا۟ they obtained خَيْرًا any good ۚ   وَكَفَى And sufficient is ٱللَّهُ Allah ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ (for) the believers ٱلْقِتَالَ (in) the battle ۚ   وَكَانَ and Allah is ٱللَّهُ and Allah is قَوِيًّا All-Strong عَزِيزًا All-Mighty

وَأَنزَلَ And He brought down ٱلَّذِينَ those who ظَـٰهَرُوهُم backed them مِّنْ among أَهْلِ (the) People ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ (of) the Scripture مِن from صَيَاصِيهِمْ their fortresses وَقَذَفَ and cast فِى into قُلُوبِهِمُ their hearts ٱلرُّعْبَ [the] terror فَرِيقًا a group تَقْتُلُونَ you killed وَتَأْسِرُونَ and you took captive فَرِيقًا a group

وَأَوْرَثَكُمْ And He caused you to inherit أَرْضَهُمْ their land وَدِيَـٰرَهُمْ and their houses وَأَمْوَٰلَهُمْ and their properties وَأَرْضًا and a land لَّمْ not تَطَـُٔوهَا you (had) trodden ۚ   وَكَانَ And Allah is ٱللَّهُ And Allah is عَلَىٰ on كُلِّ every شَىْءٍ thing قَدِيرًا All-Powerful

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا O Prophet ٱلنَّبِىُّ O Prophet قُل Say لِّأَزْوَٰجِكَ to your wives إِن If كُنتُنَّ you تُرِدْنَ desire ٱلْحَيَوٰةَ the life ٱلدُّنْيَا (of) the world وَزِينَتَهَا and its adornment فَتَعَالَيْنَ then come أُمَتِّعْكُنَّ I will provide for you وَأُسَرِّحْكُنَّ and release you سَرَاحًا (with) a release جَمِيلًا good

وَإِن But if كُنتُنَّ you تُرِدْنَ desire ٱللَّهَ Allah وَرَسُولَهُۥ and His Messenger وَٱلدَّارَ and the Home ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةَ (of) the Hereafter فَإِنَّ then indeed ٱللَّهَ Allah أَعَدَّ has prepared لِلْمُحْسِنَـٰتِ for the good-doers مِنكُنَّ among you أَجْرًا a reward عَظِيمًا great

يَـٰنِسَآءَ O wives ٱلنَّبِىِّ (of) the Prophet مَن Whoever يَأْتِ commits مِنكُنَّ from you بِفَـٰحِشَةٍ immorality مُّبَيِّنَةٍ clear يُضَـٰعَفْ will be doubled لَهَا for her ٱلْعَذَابُ the punishment ضِعْفَيْنِ two fold ۚ   وَكَانَ And that is ذَٰلِكَ And that is عَلَى for ٱللَّهِ Allah يَسِيرًا easy

وَمَن And whoever يَقْنُتْ is obedient مِنكُنَّ among you لِلَّهِ to Allah وَرَسُولِهِۦ and His Messenger وَتَعْمَلْ and does صَـٰلِحًا righteousness نُّؤْتِهَآ We will give her أَجْرَهَا her reward مَرَّتَيْنِ twice وَأَعْتَدْنَا and We have prepared لَهَا for her رِزْقًا a provision كَرِيمًا noble

يَـٰنِسَآءَ O wives ٱلنَّبِىِّ (of) the Prophet لَسْتُنَّ You are not كَأَحَدٍ like anyone مِّنَ among ٱلنِّسَآءِ the women ۚ   إِنِ If ٱتَّقَيْتُنَّ you fear (Allah) فَلَا then (do) not تَخْضَعْنَ be soft بِٱلْقَوْلِ in speech فَيَطْمَعَ lest should be moved with desire ٱلَّذِى he who فِى in قَلْبِهِۦ his heart مَرَضٌ (is) a disease وَقُلْنَ but say قَوْلًا a word مَّعْرُوفًا appropriate

وَقَرْنَ And stay فِى in بُيُوتِكُنَّ your houses وَلَا and (do) not تَبَرَّجْنَ display yourselves تَبَرُّجَ (as was the) display ٱلْجَـٰهِلِيَّةِ (of the times of) ignorance ٱلْأُولَىٰ the former ۖ   وَأَقِمْنَ And establish ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ the prayer وَءَاتِينَ and give ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ zakah وَأَطِعْنَ and obey ٱللَّهَ Allah وَرَسُولَهُۥٓ and His Messenger ۚ   إِنَّمَا Only يُرِيدُ Allah wishes ٱللَّهُ Allah wishes لِيُذْهِبَ to remove عَنكُمُ from you ٱلرِّجْسَ the impurity أَهْلَ (O) People ٱلْبَيْتِ (of) the House وَيُطَهِّرَكُمْ And to purify you تَطْهِيرًا (with thorough) purification

وَٱذْكُرْنَ And remember مَا what يُتْلَىٰ is recited فِى in بُيُوتِكُنَّ your houses مِنْ of ءَايَـٰتِ (the) Verses ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah وَٱلْحِكْمَةِ and the wisdom ۚ   إِنَّ Indeed ٱللَّهَ Allah كَانَ is لَطِيفًا All-Subtle خَبِيرًا All-Aware

إِنَّ Indeed ٱلْمُسْلِمِينَ the Muslim men وَٱلْمُسْلِمَـٰتِ and the Muslim women وَٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ and the believing men وَٱلْمُؤْمِنَـٰتِ and the believing women وَٱلْقَـٰنِتِينَ and the obedient men وَٱلْقَـٰنِتَـٰتِ and the obedient women وَٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ and the truthful men وَٱلصَّـٰدِقَـٰتِ and the truthful women وَٱلصَّـٰبِرِينَ and the patient men وَٱلصَّـٰبِرَٰتِ and the patient women وَٱلْخَـٰشِعِينَ and the humble men وَٱلْخَـٰشِعَـٰتِ and the humble women وَٱلْمُتَصَدِّقِينَ and the men who give charity وَٱلْمُتَصَدِّقَـٰتِ and the women who give charity وَٱلصَّـٰٓئِمِينَ and the men who fast وَٱلصَّـٰٓئِمَـٰتِ and the women who fast وَٱلْحَـٰفِظِينَ and the men who guard فُرُوجَهُمْ their chastity وَٱلْحَـٰفِظَـٰتِ and the women who guard (it) وَٱلذَّٰكِرِينَ and the men who remember ٱللَّهَ Allah كَثِيرًا much وَٱلذَّٰكِرَٰتِ and the women who remember أَعَدَّ Allah has prepared ٱللَّهُ Allah has prepared لَهُم for them مَّغْفِرَةً forgiveness وَأَجْرًا and a reward عَظِيمًا great

وَمَا And not كَانَ (it) is لِمُؤْمِنٍ for a believing man وَلَا and not مُؤْمِنَةٍ (for) a believing woman إِذَا when قَضَى Allah has decided ٱللَّهُ Allah has decided وَرَسُولُهُۥٓ and His Messenger أَمْرًا a matter أَن that يَكُونَ (there) should be لَهُمُ for them ٱلْخِيَرَةُ (any) choice مِنْ about أَمْرِهِمْ their affair ۗ   وَمَن And whoever يَعْصِ disobeys ٱللَّهَ Allah وَرَسُولَهُۥ and His Messenger فَقَدْ certainly ضَلَّ he (has) strayed ضَلَـٰلًا (into) error مُّبِينًا clear

وَإِذْ And when تَقُولُ you said لِلَّذِىٓ to the one أَنْعَمَ Allah bestowed favor ٱللَّهُ Allah bestowed favor عَلَيْهِ on him وَأَنْعَمْتَ and you bestowed favor عَلَيْهِ on him أَمْسِكْ Keep عَلَيْكَ to yourself زَوْجَكَ your wife وَٱتَّقِ and fear ٱللَّهَ Allah وَتُخْفِى But you concealed فِى within نَفْسِكَ yourself مَا what ٱللَّهُ Allah مُبْدِيهِ (was to) disclose وَتَخْشَى And you fear ٱلنَّاسَ the people وَٱللَّهُ while Allah أَحَقُّ has more right أَن that تَخْشَىٰهُ you (should) fear Him ۖ   فَلَمَّا So when قَضَىٰ ended زَيْدٌ Zaid مِّنْهَا from her وَطَرًا necessary (formalities) زَوَّجْنَـٰكَهَا We married her to you لِكَىْ so that لَا not يَكُونَ there be عَلَى on ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ the believers حَرَجٌ any discomfort فِىٓ concerning أَزْوَٰجِ the wives أَدْعِيَآئِهِمْ (of) their adopted sons إِذَا when قَضَوْا۟ they have ended مِنْهُنَّ from them وَطَرًا necessary (formalities) ۚ   وَكَانَ And is أَمْرُ (the) Command ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah مَفْعُولًا accomplished

مَّا Not كَانَ (there can) be عَلَى upon ٱلنَّبِىِّ the Prophet مِنْ any حَرَجٍ discomfort فِيمَا in what فَرَضَ Allah has imposed ٱللَّهُ Allah has imposed لَهُۥ on him ۖ   سُنَّةَ (That is the) Way ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah فِى concerning ٱلَّذِينَ those who خَلَوْا۟ passed away مِن before قَبْلُ before ۚ   وَكَانَ And is أَمْرُ (the) Command ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah قَدَرًا a decree مَّقْدُورًا destined

ٱلَّذِينَ Those who يُبَلِّغُونَ convey رِسَـٰلَـٰتِ (the) Messages ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah وَيَخْشَوْنَهُۥ and fear Him وَلَا and (do) not يَخْشَوْنَ fear أَحَدًا anyone إِلَّا except ٱللَّهَ Allah ۗ   وَكَفَىٰ And sufficient is Allah بِٱللَّهِ And sufficient is Allah حَسِيبًا (as) a Reckoner

مَّا Not كَانَ is مُحَمَّدٌ Muhammad أَبَآ (the) father أَحَدٍ (of) anyone مِّن of رِّجَالِكُمْ your men وَلَـٰكِن but رَّسُولَ (he is the) Messenger ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah وَخَاتَمَ and Seal ٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَ (of) the Prophets ۗ   وَكَانَ And Allah is ٱللَّهُ And Allah is بِكُلِّ of every شَىْءٍ thing عَلِيمًا All-Knower

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا O you who believe ٱلَّذِينَ O you who believe ءَامَنُوا۟ O you who believe ٱذْكُرُوا۟ Remember ٱللَّهَ Allah ذِكْرًا (with) remembrance كَثِيرًا much

وَسَبِّحُوهُ And glorify Him بُكْرَةً morning وَأَصِيلًا and evening

هُوَ He ٱلَّذِى (is) the One Who يُصَلِّى sends His blessings عَلَيْكُمْ upon you وَمَلَـٰٓئِكَتُهُۥ and His Angels لِيُخْرِجَكُم so that He may bring you out مِّنَ from ٱلظُّلُمَـٰتِ the darkness[es] إِلَى to ٱلنُّورِ the light ۚ   وَكَانَ And He is بِٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ to the believers رَحِيمًا Merciful

تَحِيَّتُهُمْ Their greetings يَوْمَ (on the) Day يَلْقَوْنَهُۥ they will meet Him سَلَـٰمٌ (will be), "Peace ۚ   وَأَعَدَّ and He has prepared لَهُمْ for them أَجْرًا a reward كَرِيمًا noble

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا O Prophet ٱلنَّبِىُّ O Prophet إِنَّآ Indeed, We أَرْسَلْنَـٰكَ have sent you شَـٰهِدًا (as) a witness وَمُبَشِّرًا and a bearer of glad tidings وَنَذِيرًا and (as) a warner

وَدَاعِيًا And as one who invites إِلَى to ٱللَّهِ Allah بِإِذْنِهِۦ by His permission وَسِرَاجًا and (as) a lamp مُّنِيرًا illuminating

وَبَشِّرِ And give glad tidings ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ (to) the believers بِأَنَّ that لَهُم for them مِّنَ (is) from ٱللَّهِ Allah فَضْلًا a Bounty كَبِيرًا great

وَلَا And (do) not تُطِعِ obey ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ the disbelievers وَٱلْمُنَـٰفِقِينَ and the hypocrites وَدَعْ and disregard أَذَىٰهُمْ their harm وَتَوَكَّلْ and put your trust عَلَى in ٱللَّهِ Allah ۚ   وَكَفَىٰ And sufficient is Allah بِٱللَّهِ And sufficient is Allah وَكِيلًا (as) a Trustee

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا O you who believe ٱلَّذِينَ O you who believe ءَامَنُوٓا۟ O you who believe إِذَا When نَكَحْتُمُ you marry ٱلْمُؤْمِنَـٰتِ believing women ثُمَّ and then طَلَّقْتُمُوهُنَّ divorce them مِن before قَبْلِ before أَن [that] تَمَسُّوهُنَّ you have touched them فَمَا then not لَكُمْ for you عَلَيْهِنَّ on them مِنْ any عِدَّةٍ waiting period تَعْتَدُّونَهَا (to) count concerning them ۖ   فَمَتِّعُوهُنَّ So provide for them وَسَرِّحُوهُنَّ and release them سَرَاحًا (with) a release جَمِيلًا good

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا O Prophet ٱلنَّبِىُّ O Prophet إِنَّآ Indeed, We أَحْلَلْنَا [We] have made lawful لَكَ to you أَزْوَٰجَكَ your wives ٱلَّـٰتِىٓ (to) whom ءَاتَيْتَ you have given أُجُورَهُنَّ their bridal money وَمَا and whom مَلَكَتْ you rightfully possess يَمِينُكَ you rightfully possess مِمَّآ from those (whom) أَفَآءَ Allah has given ٱللَّهُ Allah has given عَلَيْكَ to you وَبَنَاتِ and (the) daughters عَمِّكَ (of) your paternal uncles وَبَنَاتِ and (the) daughters عَمَّـٰتِكَ (of) your paternal aunts وَبَنَاتِ and (the) daughters خَالِكَ (of) your maternal uncles وَبَنَاتِ and (the) daughters خَـٰلَـٰتِكَ (of) your maternal aunts ٱلَّـٰتِى who هَاجَرْنَ emigrated مَعَكَ with you وَٱمْرَأَةً and a woman مُّؤْمِنَةً believing إِن if وَهَبَتْ she gives نَفْسَهَا herself لِلنَّبِىِّ to the Prophet إِنْ if أَرَادَ wishes ٱلنَّبِىُّ the Prophet أَن to يَسْتَنكِحَهَا marry her خَالِصَةً only لَّكَ for you مِن excluding دُونِ excluding ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ the believers ۗ   قَدْ Certainly عَلِمْنَا We know مَا what فَرَضْنَا We have made obligatory عَلَيْهِمْ upon them فِىٓ concerning أَزْوَٰجِهِمْ their wives وَمَا and whom مَلَكَتْ they rightfully possess أَيْمَـٰنُهُمْ they rightfully possess لِكَيْلَا that not يَكُونَ should be عَلَيْكَ on you حَرَجٌ any discomfort ۗ   وَكَانَ And Allah is ٱللَّهُ And Allah is غَفُورًا Oft-Forgiving رَّحِيمًا Most Merciful

تُرْجِى You may defer مَن whom تَشَآءُ you will مِنْهُنَّ of them وَتُـْٔوِىٓ or you may take إِلَيْكَ to yourself مَن whom تَشَآءُ you will ۖ   وَمَنِ And whoever ٱبْتَغَيْتَ you desire مِمَّنْ of those whom عَزَلْتَ you (had) set aside فَلَا then (there is) no جُنَاحَ blame عَلَيْكَ upon you ۚ   ذَٰلِكَ That أَدْنَىٰٓ (is) more suitable أَن that تَقَرَّ may be cooled أَعْيُنُهُنَّ their eyes وَلَا and not يَحْزَنَّ they grieve وَيَرْضَيْنَ and they may be pleased بِمَآ with what ءَاتَيْتَهُنَّ you have given them كُلُّهُنَّ all of them ۚ   وَٱللَّهُ And Allah يَعْلَمُ knows مَا what فِى (is) in قُلُوبِكُمْ your hearts ۚ   وَكَانَ And Allah is ٱللَّهُ And Allah is عَلِيمًا All-Knower حَلِيمًا Most Forbearing

لَّا (It is) not يَحِلُّ lawful لَكَ for you ٱلنِّسَآءُ (to marry) women مِنۢ after (this) بَعْدُ after (this) وَلَآ and not أَن to تَبَدَّلَ exchange بِهِنَّ them مِنْ for أَزْوَٰجٍ (other) wives وَلَوْ even if أَعْجَبَكَ pleases you حُسْنُهُنَّ their beauty إِلَّا except مَا whom مَلَكَتْ you rightfully possess يَمِينُكَ you rightfully possess ۗ   وَكَانَ And Allah is ٱللَّهُ And Allah is عَلَىٰ over كُلِّ all شَىْءٍ things رَّقِيبًا an Observer

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا O you who believe ٱلَّذِينَ O you who believe ءَامَنُوا۟ O you who believe لَا (Do) not تَدْخُلُوا۟ enter بُيُوتَ (the) houses ٱلنَّبِىِّ (of) the Prophet إِلَّآ except أَن when يُؤْذَنَ permission is given لَكُمْ to you إِلَىٰ for طَعَامٍ a meal غَيْرَ without نَـٰظِرِينَ awaiting إِنَىٰهُ its preparation وَلَـٰكِنْ But إِذَا when دُعِيتُمْ you are invited فَٱدْخُلُوا۟ then enter فَإِذَا and when طَعِمْتُمْ you have eaten فَٱنتَشِرُوا۟ then disperse وَلَا and not مُسْتَـْٔنِسِينَ seeking to remain لِحَدِيثٍ for a conversation ۚ   إِنَّ Indeed ذَٰلِكُمْ that كَانَ was يُؤْذِى troubling ٱلنَّبِىَّ the Prophet فَيَسْتَحْىِۦ and he is shy مِنكُمْ of (dismissing) you ۖ   وَٱللَّهُ But Allah لَا is not shy يَسْتَحْىِۦ is not shy مِنَ of ٱلْحَقِّ the truth ۚ   وَإِذَا And when سَأَلْتُمُوهُنَّ you ask them مَتَـٰعًا (for) anything فَسْـَٔلُوهُنَّ then ask them مِن from وَرَآءِ behind حِجَابٍ a screen ۚ   ذَٰلِكُمْ That أَطْهَرُ (is) purer لِقُلُوبِكُمْ for your hearts وَقُلُوبِهِنَّ and their hearts ۚ   وَمَا And not كَانَ is لَكُمْ for you أَن that تُؤْذُوا۟ you trouble رَسُولَ (the) Messenger ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah وَلَآ and not أَن that تَنكِحُوٓا۟ you should marry أَزْوَٰجَهُۥ his wives مِنۢ after him بَعْدِهِۦٓ after him أَبَدًا ever ۚ   إِنَّ Indeed ذَٰلِكُمْ that كَانَ is عِندَ near ٱللَّهِ Allah عَظِيمًا an enormity

إِن Whether تُبْدُوا۟ you reveal شَيْـًٔا a thing أَوْ or تُخْفُوهُ conceal it فَإِنَّ indeed ٱللَّهَ Allah كَانَ is بِكُلِّ of all شَىْءٍ things عَلِيمًا All-Knower

لَّا (There is) no جُنَاحَ blame عَلَيْهِنَّ upon them فِىٓ concerning ءَابَآئِهِنَّ their fathers وَلَآ and not أَبْنَآئِهِنَّ their sons وَلَآ and not إِخْوَٰنِهِنَّ their brothers وَلَآ and not أَبْنَآءِ sons إِخْوَٰنِهِنَّ (of) their brothers وَلَآ and not أَبْنَآءِ sons أَخَوَٰتِهِنَّ (of) their sisters وَلَا and not نِسَآئِهِنَّ their women وَلَا and not مَا what مَلَكَتْ they rightfully possess أَيْمَـٰنُهُنَّ they rightfully possess ۗ   وَٱتَّقِينَ And fear ٱللَّهَ Allah ۚ   إِنَّ Indeed ٱللَّهَ Allah كَانَ is عَلَىٰ over كُلِّ all شَىْءٍ things شَهِيدًا a Witness

إِنَّ Indeed ٱللَّهَ Allah وَمَلَـٰٓئِكَتَهُۥ and His Angels يُصَلُّونَ send blessings عَلَى upon ٱلنَّبِىِّ the Prophet ۚ   يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا O you who believe ٱلَّذِينَ O you who believe ءَامَنُوا۟ O you who believe صَلُّوا۟ Send blessings عَلَيْهِ on him وَسَلِّمُوا۟ and greet him تَسْلِيمًا (with) greetings

إِنَّ Indeed ٱلَّذِينَ those who يُؤْذُونَ annoy ٱللَّهَ Allah وَرَسُولَهُۥ and His Messenger لَعَنَهُمُ Allah has cursed them ٱللَّهُ Allah has cursed them فِى in ٱلدُّنْيَا the world وَٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ and the Hereafter وَأَعَدَّ and prepared لَهُمْ for them عَذَابًا a punishment مُّهِينًا humiliating

وَٱلَّذِينَ And those who يُؤْذُونَ harm ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ the believing men وَٱلْمُؤْمِنَـٰتِ and the believing women بِغَيْرِ for other than مَا what ٱكْتَسَبُوا۟ they have earned فَقَدِ then certainly ٱحْتَمَلُوا۟ they bear بُهْتَـٰنًا false accusation وَإِثْمًا and sin مُّبِينًا manifest

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا O Prophet ٱلنَّبِىُّ O Prophet قُل Say لِّأَزْوَٰجِكَ to your wives وَبَنَاتِكَ and your daughters وَنِسَآءِ and (the) women ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ (of) the believers يُدْنِينَ to draw عَلَيْهِنَّ over themselves مِن [of] جَلَـٰبِيبِهِنَّ their outer garments ۚ   ذَٰلِكَ That أَدْنَىٰٓ (is) more suitable أَن that يُعْرَفْنَ they should be known فَلَا and not يُؤْذَيْنَ harmed ۗ   وَكَانَ And is ٱللَّهُ Allah غَفُورًا Oft-Forgiving رَّحِيمًا Most Merciful

لَّئِن If لَّمْ (do) not يَنتَهِ cease ٱلْمُنَـٰفِقُونَ the hypocrites وَٱلَّذِينَ and those who فِى in قُلُوبِهِم their hearts مَّرَضٌ (is) a disease وَٱلْمُرْجِفُونَ and those who spread rumors فِى in ٱلْمَدِينَةِ the city لَنُغْرِيَنَّكَ We will let you overpower them بِهِمْ We will let you overpower them ثُمَّ then لَا not يُجَاوِرُونَكَ they will remain your neighbors فِيهَآ therein إِلَّا except قَلِيلًا (for) a little

مَّلْعُونِينَ Accursed ۖ   أَيْنَمَا wherever ثُقِفُوٓا۟ they are found أُخِذُوا۟ they are seized وَقُتِّلُوا۟ and massacred completely تَقْتِيلًا and massacred completely

سُنَّةَ (Such is the) Way ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah فِى with ٱلَّذِينَ those who خَلَوْا۟ passed away مِن before قَبْلُ before ۖ   وَلَن and never تَجِدَ you will find لِسُنَّةِ in (the) Way ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah تَبْدِيلًا any change

يَسْـَٔلُكَ Ask you ٱلنَّاسُ the people عَنِ about ٱلسَّاعَةِ the Hour ۖ   قُلْ Say إِنَّمَا Only عِلْمُهَا its knowledge عِندَ (is) with ٱللَّهِ Allah ۚ   وَمَا And what يُدْرِيكَ will make you know لَعَلَّ Perhaps ٱلسَّاعَةَ the Hour تَكُونُ is قَرِيبًا near

إِنَّ Indeed ٱللَّهَ Allah لَعَنَ has cursed ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ the disbelievers وَأَعَدَّ and has prepared لَهُمْ for them سَعِيرًا a Blaze

خَـٰلِدِينَ Abiding فِيهَآ therein أَبَدًا forever ۖ   لَّا not يَجِدُونَ they will find وَلِيًّا any protector وَلَا and not نَصِيرًا any helper

يَوْمَ (The) Day تُقَلَّبُ will be turned about وُجُوهُهُمْ their faces فِى in ٱلنَّارِ the Fire يَقُولُونَ they will say يَـٰلَيْتَنَآ O we wish أَطَعْنَا we (had) obeyed ٱللَّهَ Allah وَأَطَعْنَا and obeyed ٱلرَّسُولَا۠ the Messenger

وَقَالُوا۟ And they will say رَبَّنَآ Our Lord إِنَّآ Indeed, we أَطَعْنَا [we] obeyed سَادَتَنَا our chiefs وَكُبَرَآءَنَا and our great men فَأَضَلُّونَا and they misled us ٱلسَّبِيلَا۠ (from) the Way

رَبَّنَآ Our Lord ءَاتِهِمْ Give them ضِعْفَيْنِ double مِنَ [of] ٱلْعَذَابِ punishment وَٱلْعَنْهُمْ and curse them لَعْنًا (with) a curse كَبِيرًا great

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا O you who believe ٱلَّذِينَ O you who believe ءَامَنُوا۟ O you who believe لَا (Do) not تَكُونُوا۟ be كَٱلَّذِينَ like those who ءَاذَوْا۟ abused مُوسَىٰ Musa فَبَرَّأَهُ then Allah cleared him ٱللَّهُ then Allah cleared him مِمَّا of what قَالُوا۟ they said ۚ   وَكَانَ And he was عِندَ near ٱللَّهِ Allah وَجِيهًا honorable

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا O you who believe ٱلَّذِينَ O you who believe ءَامَنُوا۟ O you who believe ٱتَّقُوا۟ Fear ٱللَّهَ Allah وَقُولُوا۟ and speak قَوْلًا a word سَدِيدًا right

يُصْلِحْ He will amend لَكُمْ for you أَعْمَـٰلَكُمْ your deeds وَيَغْفِرْ and forgive لَكُمْ for you ذُنُوبَكُمْ your sins ۗ   وَمَن And whoever يُطِعِ obeys ٱللَّهَ Allah وَرَسُولَهُۥ and His Messenger فَقَدْ certainly فَازَ has attained فَوْزًا an attainment عَظِيمًا great

إِنَّا Indeed, We عَرَضْنَا [We] offered ٱلْأَمَانَةَ the Trust عَلَى to ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ the heavens وَٱلْأَرْضِ and the earth وَٱلْجِبَالِ and the mountains فَأَبَيْنَ but they refused أَن to يَحْمِلْنَهَا bear it وَأَشْفَقْنَ and they feared مِنْهَا from it وَحَمَلَهَا but bore it ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ the man ۖ   إِنَّهُۥ Indeed, he كَانَ was ظَلُومًا unjust جَهُولًا ignorant

لِّيُعَذِّبَ So that Allah may punish ٱللَّهُ So that Allah may punish ٱلْمُنَـٰفِقِينَ the hypocrite men وَٱلْمُنَـٰفِقَـٰتِ and the hypocrite women وَٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ and the polytheist men وَٱلْمُشْرِكَـٰتِ and the polytheist women وَيَتُوبَ and Allah will turn (in Mercy) ٱللَّهُ and Allah will turn (in Mercy) عَلَى to ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ the believing men وَٱلْمُؤْمِنَـٰتِ and the believing women ۗ   وَكَانَ And Allah is ٱللَّهُ And Allah is غَفُورًا Oft-Forgiving رَّحِيمًۢا Most Merciful
