هَلْ Has أَتَىٰ (there) come عَلَى upon ٱلْإِنسَـٰنِ man حِينٌ a period مِّنَ of ٱلدَّهْرِ time لَمْ not يَكُن he was شَيْـًٔا a thing مَّذْكُورًا mentioned

إِنَّا Indeed, We خَلَقْنَا [We] created ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ man مِن from نُّطْفَةٍ a semen-drop أَمْشَاجٍ a mixture نَّبْتَلِيهِ (that) We test him فَجَعَلْنَـٰهُ so We made (for) him سَمِيعًۢا hearing بَصِيرًا and sight

إِنَّا Indeed, We هَدَيْنَـٰهُ guided him ٱلسَّبِيلَ (to) the way إِمَّا whether شَاكِرًا (he) be grateful وَإِمَّا and whether كَفُورًا (he) be ungrateful

إِنَّآ Indeed, We أَعْتَدْنَا [We] have prepared لِلْكَـٰفِرِينَ for the disbelievers سَلَـٰسِلَا۟ chains وَأَغْلَـٰلًا and shackles وَسَعِيرًا and a Blazing Fire

إِنَّ Indeed ٱلْأَبْرَارَ the righteous يَشْرَبُونَ will drink مِن from كَأْسٍ a cup كَانَ is مِزَاجُهَا its mixture كَافُورًا (of) Kafur

عَيْنًا A spring يَشْرَبُ will drink بِهَا from it عِبَادُ (the) slaves ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah يُفَجِّرُونَهَا causing it to gush forth تَفْجِيرًا abundantly

يُوفُونَ They fulfill بِٱلنَّذْرِ the vows وَيَخَافُونَ and fear يَوْمًا a Day كَانَ (which) is شَرُّهُۥ its evil مُسْتَطِيرًا widespread

وَيُطْعِمُونَ And they feed ٱلطَّعَامَ the food عَلَىٰ in spite of حُبِّهِۦ love (for) it مِسْكِينًا (to the) needy وَيَتِيمًا and (the) orphan وَأَسِيرًا and (the) captive

إِنَّمَا Only نُطْعِمُكُمْ we feed you لِوَجْهِ for (the) Countenance ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah لَا Not نُرِيدُ we desire مِنكُمْ from you جَزَآءً any reward وَلَا and not شُكُورًا thanks

إِنَّا Indeed, we نَخَافُ fear مِن from رَّبِّنَا our Lord يَوْمًا a Day عَبُوسًا harsh قَمْطَرِيرًا and distressful

فَوَقَىٰهُمُ But will protect them ٱللَّهُ Allah شَرَّ (from the) evil ذَٰلِكَ (of) that ٱلْيَوْمِ Day وَلَقَّىٰهُمْ and will cause them to meet نَضْرَةً radiance وَسُرُورًا and happiness

وَجَزَىٰهُم And will reward them بِمَا because صَبَرُوا۟ they were patient جَنَّةً (with) a Garden وَحَرِيرًا and silk

مُّتَّكِـِٔينَ Reclining فِيهَا therein عَلَى on ٱلْأَرَآئِكِ couches ۖ   لَا Not يَرَوْنَ they will see فِيهَا therein شَمْسًا sun وَلَا and not زَمْهَرِيرًا freezing cold

وَدَانِيَةً And near عَلَيْهِمْ above them ظِلَـٰلُهَا (are) its shades وَذُلِّلَتْ and will hang low قُطُوفُهَا its cluster of fruits تَذْلِيلًا dangling low

وَيُطَافُ And will be circulated عَلَيْهِم among them بِـَٔانِيَةٍ vessels مِّن of فِضَّةٍ silver وَأَكْوَابٍ and cups كَانَتْ (that) are قَوَارِيرَا۠ (of) crystal

قَوَارِيرَا۟ Crystal-clear مِن of فِضَّةٍ silver قَدَّرُوهَا They will determine its تَقْدِيرًا measure

وَيُسْقَوْنَ And they will be given to drink فِيهَا therein كَأْسًا a cup كَانَ is مِزَاجُهَا its mixture زَنجَبِيلًا (of) Zanjabil

عَيْنًا A spring فِيهَا therein تُسَمَّىٰ named سَلْسَبِيلًا Salsabil

وَيَطُوفُ And will circulate عَلَيْهِمْ among them وِلْدَٰنٌ young boys مُّخَلَّدُونَ made eternal إِذَا When رَأَيْتَهُمْ you see them حَسِبْتَهُمْ you would think them لُؤْلُؤًا (to be) pearls مَّنثُورًا scattered

وَإِذَا And when رَأَيْتَ you look ثَمَّ then رَأَيْتَ you will see نَعِيمًا blessings وَمُلْكًا and a kingdom كَبِيرًا great

عَـٰلِيَهُمْ Upon them ثِيَابُ (will be) garments سُندُسٍ (of) fine silk خُضْرٌ green وَإِسْتَبْرَقٌ and heavy brocade ۖ   وَحُلُّوٓا۟ And they will be adorned أَسَاوِرَ (with) bracelets مِن of فِضَّةٍ silver وَسَقَىٰهُمْ and will give them to drink رَبُّهُمْ their Lord شَرَابًا a drink طَهُورًا pure

إِنَّ Indeed هَـٰذَا this كَانَ is لَكُمْ for you جَزَآءً a reward وَكَانَ and has been سَعْيُكُم your effort مَّشْكُورًا appreciated

إِنَّا Indeed, We نَحْنُ [We] نَزَّلْنَا [We] revealed عَلَيْكَ to you ٱلْقُرْءَانَ the Quran تَنزِيلًا progressively

فَٱصْبِرْ So be patient لِحُكْمِ for (the) Command رَبِّكَ (of) your Lord وَلَا and (do) not تُطِعْ obey مِنْهُمْ from them ءَاثِمًا any sinner أَوْ or كَفُورًا disbeliever

وَٱذْكُرِ And remember ٱسْمَ (the) name رَبِّكَ (of) your Lord بُكْرَةً morning وَأَصِيلًا and evening

وَمِنَ And of ٱلَّيْلِ the night فَٱسْجُدْ prostrate لَهُۥ to Him وَسَبِّحْهُ and glorify Him لَيْلًا a night طَوِيلًا long

إِنَّ Indeed هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ these يُحِبُّونَ love ٱلْعَاجِلَةَ the immediate وَيَذَرُونَ and leave وَرَآءَهُمْ behind them يَوْمًا a Day ثَقِيلًا grave

نَّحْنُ We خَلَقْنَـٰهُمْ created them وَشَدَدْنَآ and We strengthened أَسْرَهُمْ their forms ۖ   وَإِذَا and when شِئْنَا We will بَدَّلْنَآ We can change أَمْثَـٰلَهُمْ their likeness[es] تَبْدِيلًا (with) a change

إِنَّ Indeed هَـٰذِهِۦ this تَذْكِرَةٌ (is) a reminder ۖ   فَمَن so whoever شَآءَ wills ٱتَّخَذَ let him take إِلَىٰ to رَبِّهِۦ his Lord سَبِيلًا a way

وَمَا And not تَشَآءُونَ you will إِلَّآ except أَن that يَشَآءَ wills ٱللَّهُ Allah ۚ   إِنَّ Indeed ٱللَّهَ Allah كَانَ is عَلِيمًا All-Knower حَكِيمًا All-Wise

يُدْخِلُ He admits مَن whom يَشَآءُ He wills فِى into رَحْمَتِهِۦ His mercy ۚ   وَٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ but (for) the wrongdoers أَعَدَّ He has prepared لَهُمْ for them عَذَابًا a punishment أَلِيمًۢا painful
