حمٓ Ha Meem

وَٱلْكِتَـٰبِ By the Book ٱلْمُبِينِ the clear

إِنَّآ Indeed, We أَنزَلْنَـٰهُ revealed it فِى in لَيْلَةٍ a Night مُّبَـٰرَكَةٍ Blessed ۚ   إِنَّا Indeed, We كُنَّا [We] are مُنذِرِينَ (ever) warning

فِيهَا Therein يُفْرَقُ is made distinct كُلُّ every أَمْرٍ affair حَكِيمٍ wise

أَمْرًا A command مِّنْ from عِندِنَآ Us ۚ   إِنَّا Indeed, We كُنَّا [We] are مُرْسِلِينَ (ever) sending

رَحْمَةً As Mercy مِّن from رَّبِّكَ your Lord ۚ   إِنَّهُۥ Indeed, He هُوَ [He] ٱلسَّمِيعُ (is) the All-Hearer ٱلْعَلِيمُ the All-Knower

رَبِّ Lord ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ (of) the heavens وَٱلْأَرْضِ and the earth وَمَا and whatever بَيْنَهُمَآ (is) between both of them ۖ   إِن if كُنتُم you are مُّوقِنِينَ certain

لَآ (There is) no إِلَـٰهَ god إِلَّا except هُوَ Him يُحْىِۦ He gives life وَيُمِيتُ and causes death ۖ   رَبُّكُمْ your Lord وَرَبُّ and (the) Lord ءَابَآئِكُمُ (of) your fathers ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ the former

بَلْ Nay هُمْ they فِى (are) in شَكٍّ doubt يَلْعَبُونَ playing

فَٱرْتَقِبْ Then watch يَوْمَ (for the) Day تَأْتِى (when) will bring ٱلسَّمَآءُ the sky بِدُخَانٍ smoke مُّبِينٍ visible

يَغْشَى Enveloping ٱلنَّاسَ the people ۖ   هَـٰذَا This عَذَابٌ (will be) a punishment أَلِيمٌ painful

رَّبَّنَا Our Lord ٱكْشِفْ Remove عَنَّا from us ٱلْعَذَابَ the punishment إِنَّا indeed, we مُؤْمِنُونَ (are) believers

أَنَّىٰ How can لَهُمُ (there be) for them ٱلذِّكْرَىٰ the reminder وَقَدْ when verily جَآءَهُمْ had come to them رَسُولٌ a Messenger مُّبِينٌ clear

ثُمَّ Then تَوَلَّوْا۟ they turned away عَنْهُ from him وَقَالُوا۟ and said مُعَلَّمٌ One taught مَّجْنُونٌ a mad man

إِنَّا Indeed, We كَاشِفُوا۟ (will) remove ٱلْعَذَابِ the punishment قَلِيلًا a little ۚ   إِنَّكُمْ indeed, you عَآئِدُونَ (will) return

يَوْمَ (The) Day نَبْطِشُ We will seize ٱلْبَطْشَةَ (with) the seizure ٱلْكُبْرَىٰٓ the greatest إِنَّا indeed, We مُنتَقِمُونَ (will) take retribution

وَلَقَدْ And certainly فَتَنَّا We tried قَبْلَهُمْ before them قَوْمَ (the) people فِرْعَوْنَ (of) Firaun وَجَآءَهُمْ and came to them رَسُولٌ a Messenger كَرِيمٌ noble

أَنْ That أَدُّوٓا۟ Deliver إِلَىَّ to me عِبَادَ (the) servants ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah ۖ   إِنِّى Indeed, I am لَكُمْ to you رَسُولٌ a Messenger أَمِينٌ trustworthy

وَأَن And that لَّا (do) not تَعْلُوا۟ exalt yourselves عَلَى against ٱللَّهِ Allah ۖ   إِنِّىٓ Indeed, I ءَاتِيكُم [I] have come to you بِسُلْطَـٰنٍ with an authority مُّبِينٍ clear

وَإِنِّى And indeed, I عُذْتُ [I] seek refuge بِرَبِّى with my Lord وَرَبِّكُمْ and your Lord أَن lest تَرْجُمُونِ you stone me

وَإِن And if لَّمْ not تُؤْمِنُوا۟ you believe لِى me فَٱعْتَزِلُونِ then leave me alone

فَدَعَا So he called رَبَّهُۥٓ his Lord أَنَّ That هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ these قَوْمٌ (are) a people مُّجْرِمُونَ criminals

فَأَسْرِ Then "Set out بِعِبَادِى with My slaves لَيْلًا (by) night إِنَّكُم Indeed, you مُّتَّبَعُونَ (will be) followed

وَٱتْرُكِ And leave ٱلْبَحْرَ the sea رَهْوًا at rest ۖ   إِنَّهُمْ Indeed, they جُندٌ (are) an army مُّغْرَقُونَ (to be) drowned

كَمْ How many تَرَكُوا۟ (did) they leave مِن of جَنَّـٰتٍ gardens وَعُيُونٍ and springs

وَزُرُوعٍ And cornfields وَمَقَامٍ and places كَرِيمٍ noble

وَنَعْمَةٍ And pleasant things كَانُوا۟ they used to فِيهَا therein فَـٰكِهِينَ take delight

كَذَٰلِكَ Thus ۖ   وَأَوْرَثْنَـٰهَا And We made it (an) inherit(ance) قَوْمًا (for) a people ءَاخَرِينَ another

فَمَا And not بَكَتْ wept عَلَيْهِمُ for them ٱلسَّمَآءُ the heaven وَٱلْأَرْضُ and the earth وَمَا and not كَانُوا۟ they were مُنظَرِينَ given respite

وَلَقَدْ And certainly نَجَّيْنَا We saved بَنِىٓ (the) Children of Israel إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ (the) Children of Israel مِنَ from ٱلْعَذَابِ the punishment ٱلْمُهِينِ the humiliating

مِن From فِرْعَوْنَ Firaun ۚ   إِنَّهُۥ Indeed, he كَانَ was عَالِيًا arrogant مِّنَ among ٱلْمُسْرِفِينَ the transgressors

وَلَقَدِ And certainly ٱخْتَرْنَـٰهُمْ We chose them عَلَىٰ by عِلْمٍ knowledge عَلَى over ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ the worlds

وَءَاتَيْنَـٰهُم And We gave them مِّنَ of ٱلْـَٔايَـٰتِ the Signs مَا that فِيهِ in it بَلَـٰٓؤٌا۟ (was) a trial مُّبِينٌ clear

إِنَّ Indeed هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ these لَيَقُولُونَ surely, they say

إِنْ Not هِىَ it إِلَّا (is) but مَوْتَتُنَا our death ٱلْأُولَىٰ the first وَمَا and not نَحْنُ we بِمُنشَرِينَ (will be) raised again

فَأْتُوا۟ Then bring بِـَٔابَآئِنَآ our forefathers إِن if كُنتُمْ you are صَـٰدِقِينَ truthful

أَهُمْ Are they خَيْرٌ better أَمْ or قَوْمُ (the) people تُبَّعٍ (of) Tubba وَٱلَّذِينَ and those مِن before them قَبْلِهِمْ before them ۚ   أَهْلَكْنَـٰهُمْ We destroyed them ۖ   إِنَّهُمْ indeed, they كَانُوا۟ were مُجْرِمِينَ criminals

وَمَا And not خَلَقْنَا We created ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ the heavens وَٱلْأَرْضَ and the earth وَمَا and whatever بَيْنَهُمَا (is) between them لَـٰعِبِينَ (in) play

مَا Not خَلَقْنَـٰهُمَآ We created both of them إِلَّا but بِٱلْحَقِّ in [the] truth وَلَـٰكِنَّ but أَكْثَرَهُمْ most of them لَا (do) not يَعْلَمُونَ know

إِنَّ Indeed يَوْمَ (the) Day of Judgment ٱلْفَصْلِ (the) Day of Judgment مِيقَـٰتُهُمْ (is) an appointed term for them أَجْمَعِينَ all

يَوْمَ (The) Day لَا not يُغْنِى will avail مَوْلًى a relation عَن for مَّوْلًى a relation شَيْـًٔا anything وَلَا and not هُمْ they يُنصَرُونَ will be helped

إِلَّا Except مَن (on) whom رَّحِمَ Allah has mercy ٱللَّهُ Allah has mercy ۚ   إِنَّهُۥ Indeed, He هُوَ [He] ٱلْعَزِيزُ (is) the All-Mighty ٱلرَّحِيمُ the Most Merciful

إِنَّ Indeed شَجَرَتَ (the) tree ٱلزَّقُّومِ (of) Zaqqum

طَعَامُ (Will be) food ٱلْأَثِيمِ (of) the sinner(s)

كَٱلْمُهْلِ Like the murky oil يَغْلِى it will boil فِى in ٱلْبُطُونِ the bellies

كَغَلْىِ Like boiling ٱلْحَمِيمِ (of) scalding water

خُذُوهُ Seize him فَٱعْتِلُوهُ and drag him إِلَىٰ into سَوَآءِ (the) midst ٱلْجَحِيمِ (of) the Hellfire

ثُمَّ Then صُبُّوا۟ pour فَوْقَ over رَأْسِهِۦ his head مِنْ of عَذَابِ (the) punishment ٱلْحَمِيمِ (of) the scalding water

ذُقْ Taste إِنَّكَ Indeed, you أَنتَ [you] (were) ٱلْعَزِيزُ the mighty ٱلْكَرِيمُ the noble

إِنَّ Indeed هَـٰذَا this مَا (is) what كُنتُم you used to بِهِۦ [about it] تَمْتَرُونَ doubt

إِنَّ Indeed ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ the righteous فِى (will be) in مَقَامٍ a place أَمِينٍ secure

فِى In جَنَّـٰتٍ gardens وَعُيُونٍ and springs

يَلْبَسُونَ Wearing garments مِن of سُندُسٍ fine silk وَإِسْتَبْرَقٍ and heavy silk مُّتَقَـٰبِلِينَ facing each other

كَذَٰلِكَ Thus وَزَوَّجْنَـٰهُم And We will marry them بِحُورٍ (to) companions with beautiful eyes عِينٍ (to) companions with beautiful eyes

يَدْعُونَ They will call فِيهَا therein بِكُلِّ for every (kind) فَـٰكِهَةٍ (of) fruit ءَامِنِينَ secure

لَا Not يَذُوقُونَ they will taste فِيهَا therein ٱلْمَوْتَ the death إِلَّا except ٱلْمَوْتَةَ the death ٱلْأُولَىٰ the first ۖ   وَوَقَىٰهُمْ And He will protect them عَذَابَ (from the) punishment ٱلْجَحِيمِ (of) the Hellfire

فَضْلًا A Bounty مِّن from رَّبِّكَ your Lord ۚ   ذَٰلِكَ That هُوَ it ٱلْفَوْزُ (will be) the success ٱلْعَظِيمُ the great

فَإِنَّمَا Indeed يَسَّرْنَـٰهُ We have made it easy بِلِسَانِكَ in your tongue لَعَلَّهُمْ so that they may يَتَذَكَّرُونَ take heed

فَٱرْتَقِبْ So watch إِنَّهُم indeed, they مُّرْتَقِبُونَ (too are) watching
