طسٓمٓ Ta Seem Meem

تِلْكَ These ءَايَـٰتُ (are the) Verses ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ (of) the Book ٱلْمُبِينِ clear

لَعَلَّكَ Perhaps you بَـٰخِعٌ (would) kill نَّفْسَكَ yourself أَلَّا that not يَكُونُوا۟ they become مُؤْمِنِينَ believers

إِن If نَّشَأْ We will نُنَزِّلْ We can send down عَلَيْهِم to them مِّنَ from ٱلسَّمَآءِ the sky ءَايَةً a Sign فَظَلَّتْ so would bend أَعْنَـٰقُهُمْ their necks لَهَا to it خَـٰضِعِينَ (in) humility

وَمَا And (does) not يَأْتِيهِم come to them مِّن any ذِكْرٍ reminder مِّنَ from ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ the Most Gracious مُحْدَثٍ new إِلَّا but كَانُوا۟ they عَنْهُ from it مُعْرِضِينَ turn away

فَقَدْ So verily كَذَّبُوا۟ they have denied فَسَيَأْتِيهِمْ then will come to them أَنۢبَـٰٓؤُا۟ the news مَا (of) what كَانُوا۟ they used بِهِۦ at it يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ (to) mock

أَوَلَمْ Do not يَرَوْا۟ they see إِلَى at ٱلْأَرْضِ the earth كَمْ how many أَنۢبَتْنَا We produced فِيهَا in it مِن of كُلِّ every زَوْجٍ kind كَرِيمٍ noble

إِنَّ Indeed فِى in ذَٰلِكَ that لَـَٔايَةً surely (is) a sign ۖ   وَمَا but not كَانَ are أَكْثَرُهُم most of them مُّؤْمِنِينَ believers

وَإِنَّ And indeed رَبَّكَ your Lord لَهُوَ surely, He ٱلْعَزِيزُ (is) the All-Mighty ٱلرَّحِيمُ the Most Merciful

وَإِذْ And when نَادَىٰ your Lord called رَبُّكَ your Lord called مُوسَىٰٓ Musa أَنِ [that] ٱئْتِ Go ٱلْقَوْمَ (to) the people ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ (who are) wrongdoers

قَوْمَ (The) people فِرْعَوْنَ (of) Firaun ۚ   أَلَا Will not يَتَّقُونَ they fear

قَالَ He said رَبِّ My Lord إِنِّىٓ Indeed, I أَخَافُ [I] fear أَن that يُكَذِّبُونِ they will deny me

وَيَضِيقُ And straitens صَدْرِى my breast وَلَا and not يَنطَلِقُ expresses well لِسَانِى my tongue فَأَرْسِلْ so send إِلَىٰ for هَـٰرُونَ Harun

وَلَهُمْ And they have عَلَىَّ against me ذَنۢبٌ a crime فَأَخَافُ so I fear أَن that يَقْتُلُونِ they will kill me

قَالَ He said كَلَّا Nay ۖ   فَٱذْهَبَا go both of you بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَآ with Our Signs ۖ   إِنَّا Indeed, We مَعَكُم (are) with you مُّسْتَمِعُونَ listening

فَأْتِيَا So go both of you فِرْعَوْنَ (to) Firaun فَقُولَآ and say إِنَّا 'Indeed, we رَسُولُ (are the) Messenger رَبِّ (of the) Lord ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ (of) the worlds

أَنْ [That] أَرْسِلْ send مَعَنَا with us بَنِىٓ (the) Children of Israel.' إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ (the) Children of Israel.'

قَالَ He said أَلَمْ Did not نُرَبِّكَ we bring you up فِينَا among us وَلِيدًا (as) a child وَلَبِثْتَ and you remained فِينَا among us مِنْ of عُمُرِكَ your life سِنِينَ years

وَفَعَلْتَ And you did فَعْلَتَكَ your deed ٱلَّتِى which فَعَلْتَ you did وَأَنتَ and you مِنَ (were) of ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ the ungrateful

قَالَ He said فَعَلْتُهَآ I did it إِذًا when وَأَنَا۠ I مِنَ (was) of ٱلضَّآلِّينَ those who are astray

فَفَرَرْتُ So I fled مِنكُمْ from you لَمَّا when خِفْتُكُمْ I feared you فَوَهَبَ But granted لِى to me رَبِّى my Lord حُكْمًا judgment وَجَعَلَنِى and made me مِنَ of ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ the Messengers

وَتِلْكَ And this نِعْمَةٌ (is the) favor تَمُنُّهَا with which you reproach عَلَىَّ [on] me أَنْ that عَبَّدتَّ you have enslaved بَنِىٓ (the) Children of Israel إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ (the) Children of Israel

قَالَ Firaun said فِرْعَوْنُ Firaun said وَمَا And what رَبُّ (is the) Lord ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ (of) the worlds

قَالَ He said رَبُّ Lord ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ (of) the heavens وَٱلْأَرْضِ and the earth وَمَا and whatever بَيْنَهُمَآ (is) between them ۖ   إِن if كُنتُم you (should) be مُّوقِنِينَ convinced

قَالَ He said لِمَنْ to those حَوْلَهُۥٓ around him أَلَا Do not تَسْتَمِعُونَ you hear

قَالَ He said رَبُّكُمْ Your Lord وَرَبُّ and (the) Lord ءَابَآئِكُمُ (of) your forefathers ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ (of) your forefathers

قَالَ He said إِنَّ Indeed رَسُولَكُمُ your Messenger ٱلَّذِىٓ who أُرْسِلَ has been sent إِلَيْكُمْ to you لَمَجْنُونٌ (is) surely mad

قَالَ He said رَبُّ Lord ٱلْمَشْرِقِ (of) the east وَٱلْمَغْرِبِ and the west وَمَا and whatever بَيْنَهُمَآ (is) between them ۖ   إِن if كُنتُمْ you were تَعْقِلُونَ (to) reason

قَالَ He said لَئِنِ If ٱتَّخَذْتَ you take إِلَـٰهًا a god غَيْرِى other than me لَأَجْعَلَنَّكَ I will surely make you مِنَ among ٱلْمَسْجُونِينَ those imprisoned

قَالَ He said أَوَلَوْ Even if جِئْتُكَ I bring you بِشَىْءٍ something مُّبِينٍ manifest

قَالَ He said فَأْتِ Then bring بِهِۦٓ it إِن if كُنتَ you are مِنَ of ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ the truthful

فَأَلْقَىٰ So he threw عَصَاهُ his staff فَإِذَا and behold هِىَ It ثُعْبَانٌ (was) a serpent مُّبِينٌ manifest

وَنَزَعَ And he drew out يَدَهُۥ his hand فَإِذَا and behold هِىَ It بَيْضَآءُ (was) white لِلنَّـٰظِرِينَ for the observers

قَالَ He said لِلْمَلَإِ to the chiefs حَوْلَهُۥٓ around him إِنَّ Indeed هَـٰذَا this لَسَـٰحِرٌ (is) surely a magician عَلِيمٌ learned

يُرِيدُ He wants أَن to يُخْرِجَكُم drive you out مِّنْ from أَرْضِكُم your land بِسِحْرِهِۦ by his magic فَمَاذَا so what تَأْمُرُونَ (do) you advise

قَالُوٓا۟ They said أَرْجِهْ Postpone him وَأَخَاهُ and his brother وَٱبْعَثْ and send فِى in ٱلْمَدَآئِنِ the cities حَـٰشِرِينَ gatherers

يَأْتُوكَ They (will) bring to you بِكُلِّ every سَحَّارٍ magician عَلِيمٍ learned

فَجُمِعَ So were assembled ٱلسَّحَرَةُ the magicians لِمِيقَـٰتِ for (the) appointment يَوْمٍ (on) a day مَّعْلُومٍ well-known

وَقِيلَ And it was said لِلنَّاسِ to the people هَلْ Will أَنتُم you مُّجْتَمِعُونَ assemble

لَعَلَّنَا That we may نَتَّبِعُ follow ٱلسَّحَرَةَ the magicians إِن if كَانُوا۟ they are هُمُ they are ٱلْغَـٰلِبِينَ the victorious

فَلَمَّا So when جَآءَ came ٱلسَّحَرَةُ the magicians قَالُوا۟ they said لِفِرْعَوْنَ to Firaun أَئِنَّ Is there لَنَا for us لَأَجْرًا a reward إِن if كُنَّا we are نَحْنُ we are ٱلْغَـٰلِبِينَ the victorious

قَالَ He said نَعَمْ Yes وَإِنَّكُمْ and indeed you إِذًا then لَّمِنَ surely (will be) of ٱلْمُقَرَّبِينَ the ones who are brought near

قَالَ Said لَهُم to them مُّوسَىٰٓ Musa أَلْقُوا۟ Throw مَآ what أَنتُم you مُّلْقُونَ (are) going to throw

فَأَلْقَوْا۟ So they threw حِبَالَهُمْ their ropes وَعِصِيَّهُمْ and their staffs وَقَالُوا۟ and said بِعِزَّةِ By the might فِرْعَوْنَ (of) Firaun إِنَّا indeed, we لَنَحْنُ surely, we ٱلْغَـٰلِبُونَ (are) the victorious

فَأَلْقَىٰ Then threw مُوسَىٰ Musa عَصَاهُ his staff فَإِذَا and behold هِىَ It تَلْقَفُ swallowed مَا what يَأْفِكُونَ they falsified

فَأُلْقِىَ Then fell down ٱلسَّحَرَةُ the magicians سَـٰجِدِينَ prostrate

قَالُوٓا۟ They said ءَامَنَّا We believe بِرَبِّ in (the) Lord ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ (of) the worlds

رَبِّ Lord مُوسَىٰ (of) Musa وَهَـٰرُونَ and Harun

قَالَ He said ءَامَنتُمْ You believed لَهُۥ in him قَبْلَ before أَنْ [that] ءَاذَنَ I gave permission لَكُمْ to you ۖ   إِنَّهُۥ Indeed, he لَكَبِيرُكُمُ (is) surely your chief ٱلَّذِى who عَلَّمَكُمُ has taught you ٱلسِّحْرَ the magic فَلَسَوْفَ so surely soon تَعْلَمُونَ you will know ۚ   لَأُقَطِّعَنَّ I will surely cut off أَيْدِيَكُمْ your hands وَأَرْجُلَكُم and your feet مِّنْ of خِلَـٰفٍ opposite sides وَلَأُصَلِّبَنَّكُمْ and I will surely crucify you أَجْمَعِينَ all

قَالُوا۟ They said لَا No ضَيْرَ harm ۖ   إِنَّآ Indeed, we إِلَىٰ to رَبِّنَا our Lord مُنقَلِبُونَ (will) return

إِنَّا Indeed, we نَطْمَعُ hope أَن that يَغْفِرَ will forgive لَنَا us رَبُّنَا our Lord خَطَـٰيَـٰنَآ our sins أَن because كُنَّآ we are أَوَّلَ (the) first ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ (of) the believers

وَأَوْحَيْنَآ And We inspired إِلَىٰ to مُوسَىٰٓ Musa أَنْ [that] أَسْرِ Travel by night بِعِبَادِىٓ with My slaves إِنَّكُم indeed, you مُّتَّبَعُونَ (will be) followed

فَأَرْسَلَ Then sent فِرْعَوْنُ Firaun فِى in ٱلْمَدَآئِنِ the cities حَـٰشِرِينَ gatherers

إِنَّ Indeed هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ these لَشِرْذِمَةٌ (are) certainly a band قَلِيلُونَ small

وَإِنَّهُمْ And indeed, they لَنَا [to] us لَغَآئِظُونَ (are) surely enraging

وَإِنَّا And indeed, we لَجَمِيعٌ (are) surely a multitude حَـٰذِرُونَ forewarned

فَأَخْرَجْنَـٰهُم So We expelled them مِّن from جَنَّـٰتٍ gardens وَعُيُونٍ and springs

وَكُنُوزٍ And treasures وَمَقَامٍ and a place كَرِيمٍ honorable

كَذَٰلِكَ Thus وَأَوْرَثْنَـٰهَا And We caused to inherit them بَنِىٓ (the) Children of Israel إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ (the) Children of Israel

فَأَتْبَعُوهُم So they followed them مُّشْرِقِينَ (at) sunrise

فَلَمَّا Then when تَرَٰٓءَا saw each other ٱلْجَمْعَانِ the two hosts قَالَ said أَصْحَـٰبُ (the) companions مُوسَىٰٓ (of) Musa إِنَّا Indeed, we لَمُدْرَكُونَ (are) surely to be overtaken

قَالَ He said كَلَّآ Nay ۖ   إِنَّ indeed مَعِىَ with me رَبِّى (is) my Lord سَيَهْدِينِ He will guide me

فَأَوْحَيْنَآ Then We inspired إِلَىٰ to مُوسَىٰٓ Musa أَنِ [that] ٱضْرِب Strike بِّعَصَاكَ with your staff ٱلْبَحْرَ the sea ۖ   فَٱنفَلَقَ So it parted فَكَانَ and became كُلُّ each فِرْقٍ part كَٱلطَّوْدِ like the mountain ٱلْعَظِيمِ [the] great

وَأَزْلَفْنَا And We brought near ثَمَّ there ٱلْـَٔاخَرِينَ the others

وَأَنجَيْنَا And We saved مُوسَىٰ Musa وَمَن and who مَّعَهُۥٓ (were) with him أَجْمَعِينَ all

ثُمَّ Then أَغْرَقْنَا We drowned ٱلْـَٔاخَرِينَ the others

إِنَّ Indeed فِى in ذَٰلِكَ that لَـَٔايَةً surely (is) a Sign ۖ   وَمَا but not كَانَ are أَكْثَرُهُم most of them مُّؤْمِنِينَ believers

وَإِنَّ And indeed رَبَّكَ your Lord لَهُوَ surely He ٱلْعَزِيزُ (is) the All-Mighty ٱلرَّحِيمُ the Most Merciful

وَٱتْلُ And recite عَلَيْهِمْ to them نَبَأَ (the) news إِبْرَٰهِيمَ (of) Ibrahim

إِذْ When قَالَ he said لِأَبِيهِ to his father وَقَوْمِهِۦ and his people مَا What تَعْبُدُونَ (do) you worship

قَالُوا۟ They said نَعْبُدُ We worship أَصْنَامًا idols فَنَظَلُّ so we will remain لَهَا to them عَـٰكِفِينَ devoted

قَالَ He said هَلْ Do يَسْمَعُونَكُمْ they hear you إِذْ when تَدْعُونَ you call

أَوْ Or يَنفَعُونَكُمْ (do) they benefit you أَوْ or يَضُرُّونَ they harm (you)

قَالُوا۟ They said بَلْ Nay وَجَدْنَآ but we found ءَابَآءَنَا our forefathers كَذَٰلِكَ like that يَفْعَلُونَ doing

قَالَ He said أَفَرَءَيْتُم Do you see مَّا what كُنتُمْ you have been تَعْبُدُونَ worshipping

أَنتُمْ You وَءَابَآؤُكُمُ and your forefathers ٱلْأَقْدَمُونَ and your forefathers

فَإِنَّهُمْ Indeed, they عَدُوٌّ (are) enemies لِّىٓ to me إِلَّا except رَبَّ (the) Lord ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ (of) the worlds

ٱلَّذِى The One Who خَلَقَنِى created me فَهُوَ and He يَهْدِينِ guides me

وَٱلَّذِى And the One Who هُوَ [He] يُطْعِمُنِى gives me food وَيَسْقِينِ and gives me drink

وَإِذَا And when مَرِضْتُ I am ill فَهُوَ then He يَشْفِينِ cures me

وَٱلَّذِى And the One Who يُمِيتُنِى will cause me to die ثُمَّ then يُحْيِينِ he will give me life

وَٱلَّذِىٓ And the One Who أَطْمَعُ I hope أَن that يَغْفِرَ He will forgive لِى for me خَطِيٓـَٔتِى my faults يَوْمَ (on the) Day ٱلدِّينِ (of) the Judgment

رَبِّ My Lord هَبْ Grant لِى [for] me حُكْمًا wisdom وَأَلْحِقْنِى and join me بِٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ with the righteous

وَٱجْعَل And grant لِّى [for] me لِسَانَ a mention صِدْقٍ (of) honor فِى among ٱلْـَٔاخِرِينَ the later (generations)

وَٱجْعَلْنِى And make me مِن of وَرَثَةِ (the) inheritors جَنَّةِ (of) Garden(s) ٱلنَّعِيمِ (of) Delight

وَٱغْفِرْ And forgive لِأَبِىٓ my father إِنَّهُۥ Indeed, he كَانَ is مِنَ of ٱلضَّآلِّينَ those astray

وَلَا And (do) not تُخْزِنِى disgrace me يَوْمَ (on the) Day يُبْعَثُونَ they are resurrected

يَوْمَ (The) Day لَا not يَنفَعُ will benefit مَالٌ wealth وَلَا and not بَنُونَ sons

إِلَّا Except مَنْ (he) who أَتَى comes ٱللَّهَ (to) Allah بِقَلْبٍ with a heart سَلِيمٍ sound

وَأُزْلِفَتِ And (will be) brought near ٱلْجَنَّةُ the Paradise لِلْمُتَّقِينَ for the righteous

وَبُرِّزَتِ And (will be) made manifest ٱلْجَحِيمُ the Hellfire لِلْغَاوِينَ to the deviators

وَقِيلَ And it will be said لَهُمْ to them أَيْنَ Where مَا (is) that كُنتُمْ you used تَعْبُدُونَ (to) worship

مِن Besides Allah دُونِ Besides Allah ٱللَّهِ Besides Allah هَلْ Can يَنصُرُونَكُمْ they help you أَوْ or يَنتَصِرُونَ help themselves

فَكُبْكِبُوا۟ Then they will be overturned فِيهَا into it هُمْ they وَٱلْغَاوُۥنَ and the deviators

وَجُنُودُ And (the) hosts إِبْلِيسَ (of) Iblis أَجْمَعُونَ all together

قَالُوا۟ They (will) say وَهُمْ while they فِيهَا in it يَخْتَصِمُونَ (are) disputing

تَٱللَّهِ By Allah إِن indeed كُنَّا we were لَفِى surely in ضَلَـٰلٍ error مُّبِينٍ clear

إِذْ When نُسَوِّيكُم we equated you بِرَبِّ with (the) Lord ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ (of) the worlds

وَمَآ And not أَضَلَّنَآ misguided us إِلَّا except ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ the criminals

فَمَا So (now) not لَنَا we have مِن any شَـٰفِعِينَ intercessors

وَلَا And not صَدِيقٍ a friend حَمِيمٍ close

فَلَوْ Then if أَنَّ that لَنَا we had كَرَّةً a return فَنَكُونَ then we could be مِنَ of ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ the believers

إِنَّ Indeed فِى in ذَٰلِكَ that لَـَٔايَةً surely is a Sign ۖ   وَمَا but not كَانَ are أَكْثَرُهُم most of them مُّؤْمِنِينَ believers

وَإِنَّ And indeed رَبَّكَ your Lord لَهُوَ surely He ٱلْعَزِيزُ (is) the All-Mighty ٱلرَّحِيمُ the Most Merciful

كَذَّبَتْ Denied قَوْمُ (the) people نُوحٍ (of) Nuh ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ the Messengers

إِذْ When قَالَ said لَهُمْ to them أَخُوهُمْ their brother نُوحٌ Nuh أَلَا Will not تَتَّقُونَ you fear (Allah)

إِنِّى Indeed, I am لَكُمْ to you رَسُولٌ a Messenger أَمِينٌ trustworthy

فَٱتَّقُوا۟ So fear ٱللَّهَ Allah وَأَطِيعُونِ and obey me

وَمَآ And not أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ I ask (of) you عَلَيْهِ for it مِنْ any أَجْرٍ payment ۖ   إِنْ Not أَجْرِىَ (is) my payment إِلَّا but عَلَىٰ from رَبِّ (the) Lord ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ (of) the worlds

فَٱتَّقُوا۟ So fear ٱللَّهَ Allah وَأَطِيعُونِ and obey me

قَالُوٓا۟ They said أَنُؤْمِنُ Should we believe لَكَ in you وَٱتَّبَعَكَ while followed you ٱلْأَرْذَلُونَ the lowest

قَالَ He said وَمَا And what عِلْمِى (do) I know بِمَا of what كَانُوا۟ they used يَعْمَلُونَ (to) do

إِنْ Verily حِسَابُهُمْ their account إِلَّا (is) but عَلَىٰ upon رَبِّى my Lord ۖ   لَوْ if تَشْعُرُونَ you perceive

وَمَآ And not أَنَا۠ I am بِطَارِدِ the one to drive away ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ the believers

إِنْ Not أَنَا۠ I am إِلَّا but نَذِيرٌ a warner مُّبِينٌ clear

قَالُوا۟ They said لَئِن If لَّمْ not تَنتَهِ you desist يَـٰنُوحُ O Nuh لَتَكُونَنَّ Surely you will be مِنَ of ٱلْمَرْجُومِينَ those who are stoned

قَالَ He said رَبِّ My Lord إِنَّ Indeed قَوْمِى my people كَذَّبُونِ have denied me

فَٱفْتَحْ So judge بَيْنِى between me وَبَيْنَهُمْ and between them فَتْحًا (with decisive) judgment وَنَجِّنِى and save me وَمَن and who مَّعِىَ (are) with me مِنَ of ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ the believers

فَأَنجَيْنَـٰهُ So We saved him وَمَن and who مَّعَهُۥ (were) with him فِى in ٱلْفُلْكِ the ship ٱلْمَشْحُونِ laden

ثُمَّ Then أَغْرَقْنَا We drowned بَعْدُ thereafter ٱلْبَاقِينَ the remaining ones

إِنَّ Indeed فِى in ذَٰلِكَ that لَـَٔايَةً surely, (is) a sign ۖ   وَمَا but not كَانَ are أَكْثَرُهُم most of them مُّؤْمِنِينَ believers

وَإِنَّ And indeed رَبَّكَ your Lord لَهُوَ surely, He ٱلْعَزِيزُ (is) the All-Mighty ٱلرَّحِيمُ the Most Merciful

كَذَّبَتْ Denied عَادٌ (the people) of Aad ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ the Messengers

إِذْ When قَالَ said لَهُمْ to them أَخُوهُمْ their brother هُودٌ Hud أَلَا Will not تَتَّقُونَ you fear (Allah)

إِنِّى Indeed, I am لَكُمْ to you رَسُولٌ a Messenger أَمِينٌ trustworthy

فَٱتَّقُوا۟ So fear ٱللَّهَ Allah وَأَطِيعُونِ and obey me

وَمَآ And not أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ I ask you عَلَيْهِ for it مِنْ any أَجْرٍ payment ۖ   إِنْ Not أَجْرِىَ (is) my payment إِلَّا except عَلَىٰ from رَبِّ (the) Lord ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ (of) the worlds

أَتَبْنُونَ Do you construct بِكُلِّ on every رِيعٍ elevation ءَايَةً a sign تَعْبَثُونَ amusing yourselves

وَتَتَّخِذُونَ And take for yourselves مَصَانِعَ strongholds لَعَلَّكُمْ that you may تَخْلُدُونَ live forever

وَإِذَا And when بَطَشْتُم you seize بَطَشْتُمْ you seize جَبَّارِينَ (as) tyrants

فَٱتَّقُوا۟ So fear ٱللَّهَ Allah وَأَطِيعُونِ and obey me

وَٱتَّقُوا۟ And fear ٱلَّذِىٓ the One Who أَمَدَّكُم has aided you بِمَا with what تَعْلَمُونَ you know

أَمَدَّكُم He has aided you بِأَنْعَـٰمٍ with cattle وَبَنِينَ and children

وَجَنَّـٰتٍ And gardens وَعُيُونٍ and springs
