عَمَّ About what يَتَسَآءَلُونَ are they asking one another

عَنِ About ٱلنَّبَإِ the News ٱلْعَظِيمِ the Great

ٱلَّذِى (About) which هُمْ they فِيهِ (are) concerning it مُخْتَلِفُونَ (in) disagreement

كَلَّا Nay سَيَعْلَمُونَ (soon) they will know

ثُمَّ Then كَلَّا Nay سَيَعْلَمُونَ (soon) they will know

أَلَمْ Have not نَجْعَلِ We made ٱلْأَرْضَ the earth مِهَـٰدًا a resting place

وَٱلْجِبَالَ And the mountains أَوْتَادًا (as) pegs

وَخَلَقْنَـٰكُمْ And We created you أَزْوَٰجًا (in) pairs

وَجَعَلْنَا And We made نَوْمَكُمْ your sleep سُبَاتًا (for) rest

وَجَعَلْنَا And We made ٱلَّيْلَ the night لِبَاسًا (as) covering

وَجَعَلْنَا And We made ٱلنَّهَارَ the day مَعَاشًا (for) livelihood

وَبَنَيْنَا And We constructed فَوْقَكُمْ over you سَبْعًا seven شِدَادًا strong

وَجَعَلْنَا And We placed سِرَاجًا a lamp وَهَّاجًا burning

وَأَنزَلْنَا And We sent down مِنَ from ٱلْمُعْصِرَٰتِ the rain clouds مَآءً water ثَجَّاجًا pouring abundantly

لِّنُخْرِجَ That We may bring forth بِهِۦ thereby حَبًّا grain وَنَبَاتًا and vegetation

وَجَنَّـٰتٍ And gardens أَلْفَافًا (of) thick foliage

إِنَّ Indeed يَوْمَ (the) Day ٱلْفَصْلِ (of) the Judgment كَانَ is مِيقَـٰتًا an appointed time

يَوْمَ (The) Day يُنفَخُ (in which) shall be blown فِى in ٱلصُّورِ the trumpet فَتَأْتُونَ and you will come forth أَفْوَاجًا (in) crowds

وَفُتِحَتِ And is opened ٱلسَّمَآءُ the heaven فَكَانَتْ and becomes أَبْوَٰبًا gateways

وَسُيِّرَتِ And are moved ٱلْجِبَالُ the mountains فَكَانَتْ and become سَرَابًا a mirage

إِنَّ Indeed جَهَنَّمَ Hell كَانَتْ is مِرْصَادًا lying in wait

لِّلطَّـٰغِينَ For the transgressors مَـَٔابًا a place of return

لَّـٰبِثِينَ (They will) be remaining فِيهَآ therein أَحْقَابًا (for) ages

لَّا Not يَذُوقُونَ they will taste فِيهَا therein بَرْدًا coolness وَلَا and not شَرَابًا any drink

إِلَّا Except حَمِيمًا scalding water وَغَسَّاقًا and purulence

جَزَآءً A recompense وِفَاقًا appropriate

إِنَّهُمْ Indeed, they كَانُوا۟ were لَا not يَرْجُونَ expecting حِسَابًا an account

وَكَذَّبُوا۟ And they denied بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا Our Signs كِذَّابًا (with) denial

وَكُلَّ And every شَىْءٍ thing أَحْصَيْنَـٰهُ We have enumerated it كِتَـٰبًا (in) a Book

فَذُوقُوا۟ So taste فَلَن and never نَّزِيدَكُمْ We will increase you إِلَّا except عَذَابًا (in) punishment

إِنَّ Indeed لِلْمُتَّقِينَ for the righteous مَفَازًا (is) success

حَدَآئِقَ Gardens وَأَعْنَـٰبًا and grapevines

وَكَوَاعِبَ And splendid companions أَتْرَابًا well-matched

وَكَأْسًا And a cup دِهَاقًا full

لَّا Not يَسْمَعُونَ they will hear فِيهَا therein لَغْوًا any vain talk وَلَا and not كِذَّٰبًا any falsehood

جَزَآءً (As) a reward مِّن from رَّبِّكَ your Lord عَطَآءً a gift حِسَابًا (according to) account

رَّبِّ Lord ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ (of) the heavens وَٱلْأَرْضِ and the earth وَمَا and whatever بَيْنَهُمَا (is) between both of them ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ the Most Gracious ۖ   لَا not يَمْلِكُونَ they have power مِنْهُ from Him خِطَابًا (to) address

يَوْمَ (The) Day يَقُومُ will stand ٱلرُّوحُ the Spirit وَٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ and the Angels صَفًّا (in) rows ۖ   لَّا not يَتَكَلَّمُونَ they will speak إِلَّا except مَنْ (one) who أَذِنَ permits لَهُ [for] him ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُ the Most Gracious وَقَالَ and he (will) say صَوَابًا (what is) correct

ذَٰلِكَ That ٱلْيَوْمُ (is) the Day ٱلْحَقُّ the True ۖ   فَمَن So whoever شَآءَ wills ٱتَّخَذَ let him take إِلَىٰ towards رَبِّهِۦ his Lord مَـَٔابًا a return

إِنَّآ Indeed We أَنذَرْنَـٰكُمْ [We] have warned you عَذَابًا (of) a punishment قَرِيبًا near يَوْمَ (the) Day يَنظُرُ will see ٱلْمَرْءُ the man مَا what قَدَّمَتْ have sent forth يَدَاهُ his hands وَيَقُولُ and will say ٱلْكَافِرُ the disbeliever يَـٰلَيْتَنِى O I wish كُنتُ I were تُرَٰبًۢا dust
